I have had several Epson printers that started doing this with black and running the head cleaning utility didn't help. You can get around it by printing your "black" in charcoal gray. go to Format/font/font color and select the darkest gray on the page of "paint chips" they show you. When you click on it it should display "gray -- 80%". I've been doing this for almost a year with one of my Epson printers, and a newer printer is starting to act up. The gray is made up of all the colors mixed together so it avoids whatever it is that goes wrong with the black. It sounds crazy, but try it -- you may be surprised.

Clean the head - first in control panel, doubleclick on 'printers and faxes' then right click on your printer and click on printing preferences then when the window opens up on your left at the top - click on maintenance to clean the head.

How do I get my Canon Pixma ip7220 printer to stop printing blurred lines?

Hello, my name is Steve.

This is an early sign of print head failure.

Soon it will give you an error code on display or ill be observed on your computer. The print head nozzles are not firing correctly. The only way to remedy this is to:

1. Have the printer serviced and cleaned ( the cost of the new print head and a cleaning and servicing of the printer

2. Order the print head online and install it yourself. The wonders of the internet can find an give you a video of how to do this.

The part number is: Canon QY6-0082-000 Printhead (Canon QY60082000 Printhead) I hope this helps, Steve

XP-310 Changed black ink cartridge it now prints the bottom half of the 1st line, prints the next 4 lines and then 1/2 the next then prints the next 4 lines

Sometimes when you change ink carts on Epson printers, you can trap some air in the print head. Let the printer sit overnight, and then run a "head cleaning" followed by a "nozzle check". You can repeat the head cleaning up to 3 times before it doesn't really help any more.

Whenever i try to print anything my printer prints the first 5 lines or so and then just stops and moves on to the next page where it print the first 5 lines before giving up again.

What type of document are you trying to print(PDF, MS Word doc, etc)?
Is the printer connected via USB cable, Bluetooth?

First thing I would do is try printing a different document or even a different type of document.
If printing different documents results in the same problem then I would uninstall the current drivers, download the latest drivers from Canon, then install those drivers and try printing again.
Also, if the printer is connected to your computer via USB cable verify the cable has no exposed wiring or try a different USB cable.

My printer doesn't work as it should be beacause i tried to print a page, i pressed ok but it didn't come out

Hi Bianca!
What you should do is to clear the print spooler - the printer queue. If you're using windows, right click on my computer and then press in "Manage", in the opened window go to "Services and Applications" and then "Services". go down the alphabetical list in the right window pane until you come to the service with the name "Print Spooler". Right-click this entry, then select "stop". This will stop the service that holds your print queues. Leave this window open, press on start and then type "spool" in the search bar (or in the "Run" command line if it's windows xp) and press enter. In the opened window, go to a folder named "PRINTERS", and Delete every file within this folder to empty the jammed print queue (pressing the "ctrl" and "a" keys will select all files and then you can just
hit "delete"). Close the explorer window now that we have emptied the cleared spool files, and return to your Services window. we must re-start the Print spool service, and do so by right-clicking the Print Spool entry and selecting "Start" from the list. Close the services window and try printing again. It should work now. Good luck!

Printer wont print. help!!

Hi albookristin
I believe evrytime you tried to print, they all lined up in a queue for printing. If that is the case, you have to delete everything in the queue
Right click on the printer folder, look under documents, and see there are documents listed. If there are few, delete all of them. In some cases, you may have to print one at a time.

After doing all that, try to print a document. For test purposes type a one line document and try to print it.
Hope this will work for you.
Have a good day

Every other line prints only bottom half of text.

I have a psc 2355 printer which only prints half of text then the next lines are ok then it repeats only printing half text. I removed my ink cartridge and wiped the ink ports with a tissue heavily moisten with water. Repeated this several times and then gently dried with a tissue. The problem was fixed!!

Same lines won't print

Sorry, but this is impossible, as a "printer problem". This is clearly a "software/buffer/document" problem.

This can ONLY happen (on two printers, same results) if the DOCUMENT has "exclusive" properties or instruction sets, or "invalid data" for the "missing" lines. For example, you may be printing an HTML document with "DO NOT CACHE" meta tag or java instructions about specific lines or form entries. Many sites (like banks, registration, or encrypted mail/login pages) do this as a security measure to prevent critical data from being inadvertently printed (and ending up outside in trash cans for an ID thief to pilfer). Other possibilities: The lines are NOT text data, they might be IMAGES of text, and saved in a format the printer/buffer does not support. Any of these examples would allow the software to DISPLAY the specific (missing) lines of text -yet NOT print them.

To test my theory (almost a certainty really), simply open the document and select PRINT SCREEN key (or use whatever key commands capture the screen as an image). This copies what YOU see, to the clipboard as a single "image" file (instead of a variety of ASCII characters, images, and code).

Next, open "PAINT" in accessories under MSlop (or any IMAGE editor like Photoshop, Gimp, etc)

Select NEW and agree to the screen size you are using (1024x768, 800x600, 1280x800, etc)

Select PASTE from file menu (or CTRL/V keys). Your document will now appear.

Print the document. The "missing lines" will now show up! If the document is too long for one screen shot, you may have to scroll down, recapture (PRINT SCREEN, etc) and paste one or more images into each other before printing it as a single IMAGE.
