Hello When an Insignia TV is locked, it keeps you from watching all of your channels by only displaying a black screen. Insignia TVs are locked from a single button command on the remote control, so it is easy for you to lock the TV by accident. Since Insignia TVs can be locked so easily, it's important to know how to undo this command and unlock the TV yourself. So, unlock your Insignia TV with the push of a button and once again enjoy watching your favorite programs. ·Find the lock button on the Insignia remote control. The lock button is located on the third column from the left on the second row from the top of the remote.
·Stand within operating range of the Insignia TV, then aim the remote at the TV's receiver and press the "Lock" button on the remote control. · Aim the remote at the TV and press the channel buttons to make sure the TV is unlocked. When the TV is locked, it shows a black screen and does not allow you to view anything else. If the screen remains black, press the "Lock" button again. If this doesn't work, change the batteries in the remote and start over at step OK
After a pulled plug got me Speaker off I was frustrated for weeks and found no solution online until I looked at a site offering original remotes and realizes I was using a VCR's remote for the TV. The Manual was long ago destroyed and is not available online that I can find, but I dug around for the oriignal remote and clicking the Audio button repeatedly brought up the Speaker: Off option and then it was just a press of Adjust to turn it back to On - problem solved.
I don't know if there is a way to do it without the remote, but the only controls on the TV are those on the front and in addition to steps people online suggested I think I must have tried every combination possible of pressing those in sequence or together as well as everything I could think of on the other Mitsubishi remote and the Universal remote I had been using.
Easy! But you will need the original remote. On the remote is a button called QV for quick veiw. Press that button at the same time with the 9 button. This will open the lock, But it will return when you turn off the set and turn back on again. If you want it to do a normal turn on , once you open the lock you must go into the menu and remove the lock from the set completely. You may be able to find a friend or a store that might let you borrow an original remote? Sorry to be the bearer of poor news my friend. Good Luck
