I drive a 1989 Prelude that can't go a week without experiencing some electrical problem that keeps it from starting up. When I turn the key, a distorted beeping sound is all that comes out of it. I've replaced the alternator and the battery, but neither of these seemed to solve the problem ultimately. I've checked to see if I've left anything on when I'm not using it, but everything is turned off. My next route was going to be checking the distributor, but I really don't know now. Suggestions?

Check Fuel pressure with gauge to see pressure is not out more that 5 psi variance of spec. If initial pressure is good, Start with Vulture pump and then on to the ground on the sending unit in the tank attached to the fuel pump assembly. Easy access through the trunk. Ground wire insulation should not be brittle an cracked.Replace wire with 14 stranded THHN or wire from spare harnessing. Wire should be pliable and have good mechanical connection on the spade connector. Ensure clean connection as corrosion of dissimilar metals will invite corrosion over time.
motor will not turn over at all? well sounds like one of two things
1 you broke the timing belt and the pistons hit the valves sticking one thru a piston, thats why it wont turn over
2 you have a wiring problem keeping enough voltage from getting to your starter
Sounds like it an outer cv joint on that side. They start making a ticking noise under load and it gets worse as time goes on. Have a shop look it.You'll need a pretty well stocked tool box if you want to do it yourself.
