Question about Kenmore 700 sq. in. Cooking Area Gas Grill 14116325

What is the bottom of the kenmore gas grilled called?????

Ok, so we get this super great deal on a brand new kenmore stainless steel gas grill. We brought it home and we realize that the top half does not go with the bottom (cabinet) half. I don't even know what this part is called. We need a new "cart thingy" that the actual grill sits on. This is the part that you put the tank in under the grill itself and close the door. Well, the guy who sold us the grill did not give us the right bottom to the grill. We can't put the burners on. What is this part called and where can I buy a replacement part? Please help. This is our first grill and I feel a little sad that someone technically ripped us off. We are just a young professional family trying to have some summer fun. We also don't have the factory directions to put the grill together. Thank you so much for your time. - Dee

Hello Dee,
Sorry you didn't get exactly what you thought you were getting but you should be able to find the model of the oven section ( top part of grill) and locate a tag of some sort that youcan bring with you to Sears ( they market Kenmore) Service deskand they should be able to track down all the parts you need to complete it ( You'll be looking for the base cabinet that matches the oven ).. They should also be able to provide you with assembly directions too.. Good Luck...

You are overheating the grill - make sure the thermometer is working on the right side of the grill lid. You should not heat above 550F (preheat) and you should not cook above 500F.

Secondly, you must clean out the drip tray (not just the aluminum foil tray but the bigger tray it is attached to (it slides out the front of the grill too). The grease that piles up on this tray can catch fire and overheat the grill (including the flavorizor bars).

Last suggestion is to get stainless steel bars next time (make sure you get the size that fits your grill because the stainless steel sizes also come a bit longer). The stainless bars are high temperature stainless steel and do not corrode. They are a bit heavier and cost about 30 to 50% more but well worth it. They clean up very easily and transfer heat to the cooking surface well. Keep them clean to keep the cooking surface hotter.

Grills, whether they are stainless steel or not, are not designed to keep out the weather, bird droppings, pollen, etc. Using the cover will help maintain the look and integrity of the grill, as well as the warranty. Warranties don't cover damage due to neglect. Impressing the neighbors with a nice looking stainless steel grill is one thing. Impressing them with the way if cooks is even better. Especially, if it works as it should each time.

Happy Grilling!!

I WANT TO SWITCH TO NATURAL GAS BUT THE MODEL NUMBER IS WARN OFF

You can search the web until you find a picture of your grill, that will get you close. If the serial number is still visible, that should also be helpful.

Why is my stainless steel ducane grill rusting out so rapidly

There are two basic types of stainless steel; -highly corrosion resistant/nickel-chromium steels and less corosion resitant ferritic and martensitic steels. Basicly the less nickel in the mix lowers the price to the consumer and makes great products cost effective to the consumer. You need to "pacify" the surface to mitigate the condition.

Use DeBruce Polish to remove the rust and "pacify" the surface. This is a great product is ECO-FRIENDLY just another reason we like and use professionally. You can find DeBruce Polish at debrucepolish.com.

Kenmore Burner Hissing Noise?

You are on the right track. Check if you can clean the burner. It may help. If you do have to replace the burner, get the stainless steel replacement. It costs a little more, but it lasts 10x longer than the steel burner assembly.
