In case "silly girl" instruction will not solve your problem - right click my computer>properties>hardware>device manager>right click on your burner drive>properties>driver>uninstall. GO back to the device managger window, click 0n "action" and then on "Scan for hardware changes". The OS should find your burner and install back its drivers properly. Good luck.

It could be that it needs a lens cleaner or realigning, but try this and see if it cures it, sometimes it works. If it still persists go to my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down the list to cd/dvd drives, click on the '+' and right click on your listed drive and select uninstall. restart the notebook and then the drive will be re installed with drivers automatically.

My burner stopped burning cd's in iTunes and Windows Media Player.

This may either be due to the software you are using or to the hardware. Start with upgrading your burner's driver. If this does not help, try upgrading the firmware of the burner. If the firmware upgrade procedure fails, it gives you an error code. Look up for this error code on the internet.

Power Light Blinks, can't communicate with Linksys Network Adapte

Seems to be a common issue among these routers. If you tried to upgrade the firmware via wireless connection then it will generally fail. It is recommended to upgrade through the wired connection. In most cases if the upgrade failed and will not reset, most likely the firmware on the router has been damaged. Your best bet is to purchase a new router.

My 1gb mp3 player has froze mid-rewind

Songs may be fixed-term license or samples. Try resetting player first.

unplug mp3 player from pc
uninstall the Sansa software
reinstall the sansa software
replug the mp3 player

-Tha Mp3 Doctor

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

Zen vision m firmware problem

Dear All this problem is caused if the computer has windows media player 11 installed. I googled this for days trying to fix it - & was relieved when i finally sorted it - it's very easy. Just do the following.
Use a computer that has XP (either pro or home edition) (forget about vista....). go to add/remove programs - uninstall windows medi player - on my PC it does a roll back to WMP version 9. There's also a program called "Windows media format runtime 11" which comes with WMP11 & you need to uninstall this too - otherwise it still won't recognise the player.

Then restart your PC. Then make sure you have downloaded the lastest firmware version - just google it - trying to find the right one on the creative website is not easy - their website is poor - there are quite a few other places you can download it from.

Then I clicked the "reload firmware" option in the recovery mode (I had already deleted it 4 days ago). Then when your PC has restarted plug in your Zen, it should come up something like "MTP device recognised". Now when you double click on the firmware downloaded to install - it it will recognise the player & you can click the upgrade button. It does the upgrade & puts the firmware back on the ZEN. I got a message saying "firmware upgrade failed" at the end although when I started the player - it booted up as normal & I was able to reload & play my music.

This sure beats the "send it back to John Lewis, pay 60 quid & wait 6 weeks for it to come back " option - if like mine it's out of warranty

Keeps Freezing

Welcome to the world of Microsoft Windows Updates - late 2007-early 2008. Ever since the mid-Novemebr Windows Updates, there have a been a rash of problems with players that worked just fine previously. The protocol before was that every mp3 player was an MSD or Mass-Storage Device. Now the protocol is that most players have to be a MTP or media transfer protocol device.

Try resetting the device by inserting a small #1 paperclip into the reset hole. Hold it in for a good 15 to 20 seconds - the player will shut off and then power up again.

When you say that the firmware upgrade failed, did it fail to upgrade the firmware, or did the firmware upgrade fail to resolve the freezing issue? I know for a fact that the firmware upgrade is good on the website.

As far as the computer not recognizing the device, I have often found that restarting the computer rather than the player will resolve the issue. In fact, I had more trouble with my Rio back in 2005 than I do now. In those early days, I was always restarting my computer over and over to get it to read.

Let me know if you have continued problems.

Blue Screen and Computer freeze after using Memorex CD-R & DVD RW

Is it possible to try this drive in another PC? My recommendatoin, if the drive performs to specs in the other PC, would be to perform a System Restore (not the XP one, but rather the one that uses the HP disks). If you do decide to do the restore, be sure to backup anything that is irreplacable as the restore will put your system back to factory settings. Good luck!

first, try to uninstall the frimware from the add remove programs (Control panel). If it wont help, uninstall the driver and remoe the device (right click on 'my computer' - properties - hardware - device manager)restart the machine and let Windows redetect it. It should have retained the driver and will reload it. Good luck!
