Wont go down

The door will operate from the inside only if I hold the button down continously till it reaches the bottom. If you use the remote from the car it will not function at all. It seems like to me that the sensors are malfunctioning some how. If I let go of the button and the door is not all the way to the bottom it retracts and goes back up.

I had the same problem with my daughter's garage door. The problem indeed was the sensors at the bottom of the door which protects kids, pets, etc. First, make sure the wires are connected to the properly color-coded screws on the unit. I believe one is white and the other has a black stripe. Of course the sensors have to be aligned. If properly connected and aligned there should be a green LED on BOTH sensor units.

Door goes down and when it stops at botton, it turns and goes back up ??? Need adjusting ..How can I adjust???

Adjust the position of the door by using the black and purple buttons. Black moves the door UP (open) and purple moves the door DOWN (close)
Setting the up position: 1. Press and hold the black button until the LED starts flashing slowly, then release. 2. Push and hold the black button until the door reaches the desired UP (open) position 3. Push the door control or programmed remote control. This sets the Up (open) position and begins closing the door. 4. Immediately when the door begins to close press and release the black or purple button. This will stop the door Setting the Down position: 5. Push and hold the purple button until the door reaches the desired DOWN (Closed) position. 6. Once the door is closed, If there appears to be too much pressure on the door, you may toggle the door back and forth using the black and purple buttons to reach the desired closed position. 7. Push the door control or programmed remote control. This sets the Down (closed) limit and the door should open.

Door suddenly will not close without holding the button down continuously that is inside the garage. The remote button will open the door but not close it. The door starts to close and stops right away.

It definitely sounds like a sensor problem. In normal operation, one sensor will have an amber or yellow light on, indicating power to the sensing circuit. The opposite sensor should have a green light on. If the yellow light is not on there is no power to the circuit due to a broken wire or circuit board failure. If the green light is not on or is flickering, the sensors are not aimed at each other or the light path is blocked.

Check your door sensors. They need to be pointed at one another and each of them has a small light that must be lit and not flickering. If one or both of the lights are out and tweaking them doesn't correct it your sensors are bad.

The problem is with your door sensors. They each have a small light that must be lit for them to operate and the sensors must be pointed at one another for the lights to be on. If they are properly aligned and you still cannot get one or both lights to come on you have a sensor that has failed.

My garage door wont go down.I habe to hold the switch down but if i let it go the door will go up again.

I have a Liftmaster garage door that won't go down unless you press and hold the wall button. The sensor lights are both on. The green light on the unit flashes unless I press the reset button. As soon as you press the wall button it flashes again and the door won't go down unless you hold the button the whole time. The remote wont' make it go down either. It begins to sometimes and retracts, but sometimes the light bulb just flashes (like it is obstructed). I tried replacing the wall switch and that did nothing. Help!

REMOTE CONTROLS WILL NOT WORK-WALL BUTTON FLASHING RAPIDLY

Does your wall switch have a lock feature? By pressing the lock button, the remote control is disabled. A flashing light indicates this feature has been activated.

To deactivate, press and hold the lock button for 2 seconds. The flashing should stop and your remote should work again.
