Question about Kenmore Ovens

Gas stove top works, but oven does not.

I have a Kenmore Gas oven. The stove top igniters and gas work great, however the oven just stopped working a couple of days ago. There is no smell of gas when the oven is turned on like normal however, it sounds like it attempts at turning on just now gas. I cannot find a model number on this thing any where either. If you need I can send a picture of it, if it would help. Oven is at least 4-5 years old.

I mean that the gas is not working to the oven just not the stove. Just trying to find out what part I would need to solve this problem.

The Kenmore 24-Inch Self-Cleaning Gas Oven 30472 features a low-maintenance self-cleaning feature and is offered at a fair price.
Many retailers offer only a limited selection of gas ovens for 24-inch cutouts, but Sears has a fairly good number of models to choose from. And the 30472 stands out because of the its price and the self-cleaning feature. Since most 24-inch models are so similar, you'll want to make finding the best price your priority.
The 30472 (Sears item 02230472000) built-in gas oven offers a feature set that is typical of ovens in this category. You'll find a modern frameless door design and a digital display. Most all products offered today have a built-in clock and digital timer, like this one. The interior light goes on automatically when the door is opened. As an alternative, you can switch on the light manually without opening the door. This allows you to take a peak at a cake or other food without any heat escaping.
As is typical, this model also offers a pre-heat signal. Unlike the ovens of yesteryear, when the selected temperature is reached, this model will alert you.
Offered here in white, this model also comes in black (30479), bisque (30474), or stainless steel with black (30473).
At an attractive price, the 30472 warrants some serious consideration because of the self-cleaning feature.

Hi
On some ranges, there is an automatic shutoff valve located in the pilot assembly that shuts off the gas to the burner any time the pilot and the burner are both off. If this unit malfunctions, don't try to fix it yourself; you should call a professional service person for repair or replacement.

An electrically operated shutoff valve used on some gas ranges has two facing valves, an electromagnet, and a manually activated reset button. The thermocouple fitting is next to the pilot valve, as in most burner systems. A small amount of electricity holds the facing valves apart. If the pilot light goes out, no electricity is generated, and the valve closes to turn the gas off. On this type of system, relight the pilot by depressing the reset button and holding a match to the pilot. It should take about a minute to light this pilot. If you aren't able to relight this system, call a professional service person.

This is more than likely the igniter to be sure you will need to do an amp draw on the igniter. To do this watch the video on troubleshooting a gas oven at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html

We self cleaned and the 2 days ago and the door is still locked. Help

The lock is operated by a solenoid and may have stuck due to friction or goo around the magnet core. Try bumping the stove or lifting it 2 inches in front and dropping to the floor. 2 inches will not break anything. There may be a mechanical timer in the self-cleaning circuit... is your gas stove still plugged in and showing signs of power such as ability to ignite top burners electrically? If the timer has failed the door lock solenoid is still activated and there could be a slight hum. Try unplugging the range and see if the door can be opened. The thermal interlock should be free to let the lock retract. If that works replace the timer motor. If solid state (no timer motor) replace circuit board with timer relay.

KENMORE GAS STOVE OVEN LOWER BURNER WON'T WORK

Most likely a hot-surface ignitor has failed. If it doesn't consume enough current, the gas valve won't open. It's usually a fairly easy fix, once you gain access to the ignitor and have a new one to replace it with. Make sure you unplug the range...

Kenmore Oven not working

Remove the bottom panel from inside the stove. Turn on the stove and see if the igniter glows bright red. If not glowing, replace the igniter. In some cases, even if the igniter is glowing, the resistance may not be low enough to turn on the gas valve. In either case the igniter has probably gone bad. ($50.00 to $90.00 for igniter)
