Bluish screen My brother turned on the computer today and he saw a bluish screen. hit the auto configuration button and it turned back to its original state but only for a hot second. I've disconnected the monitor from the computer and I messed with the color settings but to no avail. what can I do to remedy this and mind you this computer was built for us 2 weeks ago.

Re: bluish screen

Before spending money on a new video card you might not need. Check all your connections. I have a monitor built into a Radio station announcer's desk and it goes blue at switch on. All I did was reposition the input cable and problem solved. It was caused by a fractured wire or two in the output cable and moving it made them make contact again. It's worked for 4 years now, if it really dies then I'll have to pull it out and replace the whole cable. Check that all your inputs and outputs are firmly plugged in and any securing screws are finger tight. But remember the old tech's saying "If it's gonna go wrong it'll usually be in the first few weeks" BMW

I accidentally hit the auto-adjustment button on my monitor. Now, the an inch of of my screen from left to right is black. Not even my mouse can go into the black space.

Did you try hitting the Auto adjust again to possibly shut it off. Quite often the buttons work as off and on buttons such as the Caps Lock. you hit it and it's on. You hit it again. It's off. If you hit the Auto adjust it might shut off and re-adjust your screen to the original setting you had. ....don't forget that you made other adjustments to compensate for the mal adjustment that will need to be fixxed. good luck.

Screen Problems

Why do you keep selecting auto configuration? You have the option of manual configuration, don't you? That is there in case the auto does not provide the results you want. So just set it manually to however bright you want.If it just will not go as bright as you would like, the remaining possibilities are aging backlight, inverter, or powerstrip capacitors which are all within your display.most re[pair shops will not even attempty a reiar of an LCD display, and if it turns out yours is deteriorating, you need to think about a new one. Unfortunately the problem with LCD monitors is that they just don't have anywhere near the life of a CRT.

My monitor, some how got stuck in an odd position, and now it won't move back to its original position.

Hit menu button on the screen located three buttons left of the power button. Select Auto Adjust. The display will automatically adjust the screen to the centre. If your display is like mine, you may have to repeat these steps several, several times to correct the problem.

Processing auto configuration

Check your settings in "Power Options Properties".
Control panel/ power options/ advanced/ under power buttons make sure you have "shut down" when you press the power button on your computer.
I hope I am understanding your problem correctly. If not pls. explain what you mean by and when processing auto config. keeps flashing. Is there a black screen or a windows interface?

I tried both suggestions above and neither worked. 1) Hitting the monitor buttons as stated only got me a "digital" message and then the monitor went black as usual. Never got to any menu options. 2) Going into Safe Mode and changing the monitor settings or downloading/installing the correct driver didn't stick once you went back to the normal startup.

I didn't have another monitor handy to swap out so I had to be a little more creative. The only solution that worked for me is re-booting (F8 during startup) into the mode "Enable VGA Mode". This allowed me to go into the normal desktop with a screen resolution of 800x600. I went online, found the driver, downloaded it to the desktop. Deleted the video driver (Device Manager), installed the downloaded version, rebooted problems.
I have Windows XP. Hope I've helped someone today. :)

"Processing Auto Configuration" keeps showing up on my screen.

It solved by fixing 1024X786 pixel solution.if it not possible by fixing it..
Then look over the VGA driver is correctly support or not
if not then you have to update the VGA (Display) by drivers
