Toshiba tv model 2563db has picture until you switch on and off several times then comes without voice but with dvd player there is voice and clear picture.whats is the problem?

should be with the remote---whatever input on the rear the unit is connected to you have to switch the set to THAT input to see the DVD

U have a tube analog tv that going through a Digital converter box?Vcr signal are analog signal too.That why u getting the picture that bad.

You must use the remote to toggle the player OUT of HDMI output mode to use the s-video output. The device displays black screen by default, so not possible to see the menu if using s-video. The manual states to press the 'Progressive' button to change modes. Unfortunately, you can't see what mode you're toggling through until you hit the right one (Toshiba blew it here!!). Power on the device WITHOUT a disk in (you can't change modes during DVD playback mode). There are four output modes, so press the 'Progressive' button on the remote and wait for 3 to 5 seconds for the player to switch output modes. Repeat this up to four times to cycle through the available modes. During one of the modes, you should see output to your screen through the cable hookup you've physically attached. You will also notice the led's on the front panel go on and off during the process at times. Good luck ~ and don't bother calling Toshiba support ... friggin waste of time talking to a recording that's dumber than Sh#@!!

some sets auto-go av when you plug a rca jackin the set, others have a switch in front or back , others you might set your channel to 00 or 99 or 100 forget and work different , I the owners manual of course would tell you. but I assume u dont have it . try hooking it and letting the dvd run now find it using the remote.

make sure the video cable is plugged in correctly, or if it is damaged.

There should be a switch on the DVD player that is makred 'progressive/interlaced.' You need to flick this switch til it says interlaced, as obviously your TV cannot view progressive signals. It may be on the back of the player, or under a flap on the front.

Depending on how old this set is, there might be a bad Hyper board bad. good Luck
