PC not booting when AVERmedia TV tuner card is inserted

Techguru2009: Seems you might have a conflict with your I/O. You need to reset the bios either by loading defaults or just remove the CMOS battery for ten minutes. After start the computer without the pci card. If all is well, then shutdown. insert the card in a different slot on the motherboard. Power up and the bios should recognize the update. Hope this helps.

PCI slot / TV tuner error

i am not an expert, but have lots of experience with my own media center. by moving the tuner card you changed the address of it which if the os does not recognize new hardware, it will not install the drivers for it. i believe you will have to use the device manager to reinstall the drivers for the tuner card. also will have to redo the setup for the tuner in media center. another problem with the softare change is you have to update the security components to be able to view certain channels.

you can find the best information for all these subjects at your computer manufacturers support website and of course microsoft for the security components. good luck, it should not be too difficult to solve your delemna with a little research and searching there.

I have Enter TV Tuner Card for windows98 software. I want drivers of the same while installing the device it shows New hardware found of PCI Multimedia Device.

The hardware is probably too old to be recognized if you are trying to install it in a newer version of Windows, such as XP or Vista. You would probably save yourself a lot of wasted time and energy if you simply buy a newer inexpensive TV tuner card for your version of Windows. A good place to start searching would be http://www.pricegrabber.com

Vista will only work with digital signals, you may need to install a software program or hardware to switch from anolog to digital.

No sound in Vista Media Centre

Hi Nickluck
Depending on the OS and Drivers, DirectX version I presume 9c, check your AverMedia TV card, in other slot PCI, and reinstall drivers, if required. Should work.
but, drivers, too for the Video Card, if Nvidia? download the latest.
Good Luck
