Question about Bose Wave Music System CD Shelf System

1 Answer

AM static I have a bose wave music system. The AM works fine until my house furnace exhaust fan turns on. When the exhaust fan is on, I get static on all the AM stations. The FM stations work fine. It is just the AM when the furnace exhaust blower turns on. Any suggestions? I have a surge protection power strip with EMI/RF protection and still there is noise on AM stations. walterhoten@yahoo.com

    Hi...
A surge protector wont filter out static. The static is radiated like a radio signal. You could try an AC line filter on either unit.
Also , does the exhaust fan have a metal box around it?

The easiest way would be to move the radio farther away from the furnace.

Bose music system remote is inconsistent.

The notoriously unreliable SMD capacitors which Bose installed are long defective. That's just the start of your problems.

You'll need to replace those defective capacitors with much higher-quality units than the original.

Only a tech experienced with SMD work should attempt this repair.

Replacing the PCB will solve your problem for only a short time, as you are just getting the original standard junk again, but new.

A disc is in the Bose Wave system and will not play or eject

Unplug the system. Turn the entire unit upside down. The CDs will eject. After I tried this (found it online somewhere), it worked fine for about 2 months. Now it suddenly turns on by itself and ejects CDs (creepy). But at least the original problem was solved.
