Which operating system and what type of computer?

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

also

The most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased.

cmos battery Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computer the location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment. Although on some motherboards the Cmos battery is soldered in Hope this helps you

I forgot the pasword of my loptop"s bios "H.D.D sata pasword" tanx

The password is stored inside the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) with the SATA (Serial ATA) interface.
So, even if you moved the disk-drive to a different computer, you would still need to know the password.

I have the same concern as yours I hope that the procedural that I did could help you as well.

1. removed hdd from laptop`s tray (with power OFF)
2. powered ON the laptop and entered in BIOS SETUP
3. as the hdd was removed the BIOS read at 1st ata device but i was able to select field, which had as options
4. select option and the "manual" options for the hdd appear
5. don`t change anything, remain on that page and insert the HDD drive in the tray. as it powers up the bios completed me the field vith the values for my hdd automatically.
6. go back to the field "1st ata device" and selected the option
7. go to the bios SECURITY section and in the field "HDD Password" enter a password of your choice (but remember or note it down)
8. EXIT the bios setup and SAVE CHANGES (and reboot)
9. at the HDD prompt i found now the password matched the one i entered
10. run the bios setup again and remove the hdd password for easy use purpose..

Unable to brows the Maxtor External HDD

Hi

If the password is ATA then you will not be able to gain access to your user data without either knowing it or having the tools which can access the HDD in the SA and not user area.

You may need to speak with a DR firm for advice.
