Question about Pioneer SD-582HD5 58" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
The TV was working fine and suddenly, the screen went black, no sound, however the power switch - red light on the front panel is still on. What could be the problem?
I had a fuse replaced for this same problem about 5 yrs ago. I would like to know if this could be the same problem and where is the fuse located and how can we replace this fuse?
There are actually two fuses on the smps F201 (6.3a) & F202 (5a) if either or both of these are open the problem is not likely the fuse. What I try and tell customers is that a fuse being open is merely a symptom, never the cause.
This particular unit is plagued with poor solder connections which case the voltages to flutter violently and the symptoms you're experiencing... You would be wise to remove the power supply and replace it or have it rebuilt. There are a number of companies that specialize in rebuilding boards of this nature or any qualified shop could do it if they had the whole Tv, since they probably don't have a jig special for that unit.
In summary, check the two fuses above and just be prepared that replacing them won'y solve the problem and most likely just open the new fuses in a short time.
