How can I fix a broken cable inside a sennheiser mzh3040?

you have to unsolder the wires on the coil assembly then pull everything out through the bottom. replace the bad wire, reassemble the xlr end and resolder the wires to the coil.

Connecting r21s to laptop

The input to the laptop usually requires a stereo or TRS type 1/8 inch plug If the mic has an XLR type connector, you need a special cable that connects the XLR pins 1 and 3 (adjacent pins) to the shield of the 1/8 inch plug and pin 2 of the XLR connector to BOTH the tip and ring of the little stereo jack. Such a cable is not commonly available so the best is to make one from parts you get at Radio Shack.

Audio-Technica freeway 200 Series VHF Wireless System - I had problems connecting the wireless system with a quarter inch to a xlr. The sound system made a very loud disturbance sound. What cable do I use...

XLR connectors are a two-wire plus ground system. Using a 1/4 inch to XLR adapter may not connect the wires correctly to your sound system input.

The A-T Freeway 200 Series has a 1/4" output jack. This would indicate a line level. A cable to connect the tip of the 1/4" jack to pin 2 of the XLR and the sleeve of the 1/4" jack to pins 1 and 3 of the XLR should work. The XLR should be plugged into a device that accepts line level.

Ideally, you should plug the 1/4" into a 1/4" or RCA jack that is designed for line levels.

The wiring has snapped from the mic to the xlr socket on the microphone is there somewhere i can get a diagram to fix it? the mic is a se electronic z3300a

It uses a standard balanced XLR wiring which is 1= ground/shield, 2= (+ve) hot and 3 is (-ve) cold. Do not bridge pins 1 and 3 as this mike uses phantom power. Please let me know if this helps.

Don't know the conections of blue or red

If we're talking about the microphone cable wiring on a low impedance mic remember this. Cheap mic cables with XLR's on both ends often have no standard color code to follow. True pin 1 is ALWAYS ground (shield wire) but the other two wires could be any color of the rainbow. Look for small numbers beside each pin of the XLR connector and make sure that pin two on one end of your cable, is also pin two on the other end as well....etc. Special note: The XLR connectors set screws have reversed threads and it's the same for the XLR male plug in the bottom of the microphone as well.....Glen

Shure SM57 Wire broken off

On the XLR end, you should see a small screw hole. This screw is reverse threaded. In other words to make it go into the mic, you need to turn it counter-clockwise. Once that screw is inside the shaft, the XLR connector should come out. You may need to pull it out using needle-nose pliers. Pull carefully so you don't break the wires.
