the washer will start a load and get from 59 min to 47 and then the start stop button starts flashing. initialy i hit the button until the wash cycled completed itself but i had to keep pressing the button through out and the clothes didn't wash and they didn't spin very well. i have checked the filter at the front of the washer and found a few items that i assumed must have been what the problem was. i have just loaded the washer up with excitement only to find that the same issue is re-occuring. eep!

Our washer won't start. The stop/pause button is blinking. We cleaned the filter (found a sock, coins and lint). It did not solve the problem. Any other solutions?

I had the same problem.....The start/pause button would flash during a cycle and the washer would not finish the cycle. After reading on this forum that there is a filter/strainer inline with the drain, I tried this solution.
Remove the (3) screws that hold the lower front panel (Just below the door)
Once the panel is removed, you should see a white plastic strainer hooked to the washer drain.

Please a large bowl under the opening and unscrew the knob/handle, pull the filter/strainer out and clean all of the lint/trash out of this area.

My filter/strainer was clogged with a baby sock, 2 doilies, a fewe pennies, 2 dimes and lot's of lint.
I believe all of this debris was causing musty odors in the machine as the lint would stink due to dampness.

Once I cleared out this filter/strainer the problem and my odors went away
I wish GE would add this "EASY" step into the owners manual for proper care and maintenace.

Thank you for letting me know about this filter/strainer as it did resolve my problem

I had the same problem... pausing mid-cycle, sit and hum but not spin (I am assuming it was waiting for the water to drain). Cleaned my trap, and found no end of my children's "treasures".
This seems to have solved the problem, I hope this and bleach eventually helps with the mildew problem too.

I have the same problem. I found an string(slip) in the filter. The filter is back to the front pannel under the door. Open the plug and chek the filter.

Lg front loading washer flasing LE and stops midcycle

In new installations, this error can sometimes present because of a miscommunication between the control panel and the wash motor. In this instance, the washer simply needs to be reset.

Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.

Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.

Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.

You need to get the diagnostic info. It should be located just inside the kickplate. Unplug the washer, and then remove the kickplate. Inside will be a packet of info that will help you diagnose your washing machine.

Does the 'door locked' light come on? If not, check the switch and it's actuator (a pin that is part of the door latch).

Washers - Resetting Electronic Controls on a Washer

If there is a pause in the washer cycle, the controls will lock up. The pause can occur because of a power failure or it was put in the test mode at the factory.

Also, if the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete or the consumer has pushed the stop/pause button to temporarily stop the cycle and the cycle is not reset. Over a period of 24 hours, the washer will pump out and spin, but will stay in the final spin.

To correct the situation, shut off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or unplug the washer, then turn the timer knob around and back to any position other than final spin. Verify the water is turned on and restore power. This should resolve the issue.
