Most electric ranges operate with 220 volts. This is supplied from two 110 volt sources. It is possible that you are only getting half of the needed voltage, since some things work and others do not. Check your circuit breakers or fuses, which ever your home is equipped with. This may solve your problem.

I'm having trouble looking up the model number you have supplied. be that as it may... is it a digital display or the old fashioned analog display.... i realize the issue is the stove going on but there is a possiblity that stove uses a timer control to shut off the burners after a certain period of time.... safety idea.

One other thing to explore... there is a panel... either on the top... lifts up... or at the base under the controls for the stove... you often have to remove to screws or bolts to gain access to it. there are a row of fuses there. one for each burner and a main fuse. even if that main fuse blows the clock may very well work.

HI,

You are correct the first thing to heck is the circuit breakers for the electric range. They both should be on.

    check*

  • Priya darshan Sep 13, 2008

Also d check the power from the outlet or the junction box, if it's hardwired.

Next I would recommend to pull the range off the wall and check all wires and connections, starting from the power cord.

    Heating
elements eventually burn out. Sometimes, when an element burns out, you
can see that the coil burns in two, or blisters and bubbles.

    When
your heating element burns out, you have to replace it because they are
not repairable. If, when the heating element burns out, the infinite
switch that controls it also fails, you have to replace it too. Also
see the "A burner works only intermittently" section, next.

    If
one of your burner heating elements works only intermittently, it's
probably because of worn or bad contacts in the receptacle that the
element plugs into. On most electric ranges, you can remove the element
by lifting it up several inches and firmly pulling it away from its
attachment (receptacle). Read your owner's manual to learn the correct
    technique for your range.

If, after removing the element, you
see that the ends of the element that were plugged in are pitted,
corroded, burned, scarred, or rusted, replace both the element and the
    receptacle.

Hi
Clogged burners are a very common problem with gas ranges because foods spilled on the burners block the gas ports and prevent ignition. On some gas ranges you can remove the top ring of the burner to expose the ports. Here's how to clean a burner:
Step 1:
Turn off the power supply, both gas and electric, to the range. Then remove the burner.

Step 2: Soak the burner in a solution of mild household detergent and water. Clean it with a soft cloth.

Step 3: Clear the gas ports with a pin or needle, rinse the burner, and let it dry. Caution: Do not use a toothpick or matchstick to clean the gas ports. If the tip of the wood gets stuck in the burner ports, it could cause a serious blockage.

Step 4: When the burner is completely dry, replace it, and turn on the power and the gas supply.

    hi
If the oven won't heat to the desired temperature or heats unevenly, the problem could be a defective door gasket. The best way to test for this is to pass your hand around the door, being careful not to touch it, while the oven is turned on. If you can feel heat escaping, the gasket needs replacement. Replace it with a new gasket made for the range.
On most ovens, the gasket is located on the frame of the oven, and the door closes against it. This gasket is generally friction-fit in a channel and can be replaced. In other units, the oven door has two sections, and the gasket is not mounted on the door frame, but is installed between the front and back sections of the door. Don't try to replace this type of gasket; call a professional service person. Here's how to replace a frame-mounted gasket:
Step 1: Pull the old gasket out of the channel. On some oven door frames the gasket is held in place with screws. To get at the screws, bend back the exposed edge of the gasket.

Step 2: Clean the channel and the door frame with a solution of mild household detergent and water.

Step 3: To install the new gasket, start the replacement at the top of the door frame and work down the sides, easing the gasket around corners. Finish the installation along the bottom, butting the ends of the gasket firmly together.

    hi ihave a last solution
The flame of gas range burners should be steady and slightly rounded, with a light-blue tip. The flame should be quiet and should respond to adjustments made at the control knobs. Most burner troubles can be quickly solved by adjusting the air shutter mixer plate, which is located at the end of the burner tube near the knob controls. Turn a small screw on the plate, slide the plate open or closed, and tighten the setscrew.

If the flame is yellow, it's not receiving enough air. To allow more air in, open the plate slightly. If the flame is high or makes a roaring noise, it's getting too much air and you should close the plate slightly.

How do I properly operate the Turbo Boil on my new Kenmore range?

Turboboil is a feature offered on a number of Kenmore electric ranges and cooktops. Without you model number it's hard to get into specifics - but turboboil is a special, high wattage heating element that delivers up to 3KW of energy to a specific heater on the cooktop. If I understand correctly, you would only use this setting when you wish to bring water to a boil in the shortest period of time possible - then change to a normal burner heat setting to maintain the temperature of the water in the pot.

Remember, an electric heat element is turned "full on" and "full off" as needed to maintain temperature (unlike a dimmer knob controls a light bulb). The turbo boil turns on a "double heater" to rapidly heat the water - after water reaches 212 degrees, it can not be heated any further (it turns into steam) so you should switch to a normal burner mode from that point forward.

Why do burners not get hot? After rehooking to electrical power, due to a remodel, the burners don't seem to heat up as hot as they used to. Cant boil water on any of the 4 burners.

Could be not enough voltage on your 220.lines ( one wire lose or a bad breaker. or the wires are hooked up wrung causing it to try to operate on 110 instead of 220

The broiler keeps turning on automatically in the lower oven, along with a loud beep. It has done this periodically when boiling water on the back burner. Now it is doing it constantly.

Hello,

There are 2 possibilities

1) the touch pad is bad so even the slightest thing makes it thinks its being touched to turn on

2) a relay on the control board is sticking and even a small amount of vibration such as turning on the surface burner is causing it to come on

So replacing the touchpad and or control should fix it. Im leaning toward the touchpad

Gas was turned off and igniters keep clicking?

As I did not see what occurred, I suspect that the tea kettle boiled over and sent water into the burners. The igniters kept clicking and I eventually turned the gas back on. Will have to replace one igniter which apparently went out and have to light it manually at this point.

Stove/oven gets hot then shuts off

Shut the breaker off! These are the exact symptoms that a tenant of ours reported for their range. I went to check the range and found that one of the power wires on the terminal block in the back of the range was burning itself up. It had actually started a small wire fire. You need to pull the range out of it's hole and unplug it. Remove the panel in the back above where the cable goes into the range. Examine the power wires and terminal block carefully, because I bet you'll find one of the wires is burning up and needs to be repaired. Please write back and let know what you find.
