Question about Computers & Internet

Jumping to previous pages

Hi can you please help? When I'm on the internet if I use the mousepad to move the cursor in order to click on something a circle appears next to my cursor and the page jumps back to ones I have previously looked at. It is driving me mad. I am not tapping my mouse pad at the time, I am just moving my finger over it so move the cursor. Thank you.

How do you stop the cursor from jumping on an elitebook folio 9470m

go to control panel / mouse to open the mouse properties window. along the top of the window should be several tabs. select the tab for touchpad or maybe advanced properties. this tab allows you to adjust the touch sensitivity of the mousepad, momentum, and other properties. adjusting to make it less sensitive may reduce the tendency of the cursor to jump or move on its own. failing that, go for an external mouse!

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa! I see that you are having problem with the mousepad, is it jumping while you are typing? Honestly, it's a common problem with some brands of laptops. What i did to mine is I install a software that will freez the touchpad while im typing.

1. Please click on this link to download the software.

2. Click on downloads section.

3. If you are using Internet Explorer, click on Run and follow the instructions.

4. If you are using Firefox, Save it then Run it.

5. Restart the computer after.

Hope this information will help. Thank you for using FixYa!

The left click mousepad on the HP 4720s doesn't work. The right one does and when I run my finger over the top the cursor moves.

Hello,
All you have to do is to open up the mousepad to clean up dirts that may have accumulate inside the mousepad, because dirts are the most common issues that affect the effectiveness of mousepad, but if otherwise you have to get another to replace the faulty one...

Hope this helps......

Hi,
If you are using a mouse, change it or try using a mousepad. If it happens on the trackpad then you need to uninstall and replace the driver.
To do that you need to right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'properties'. Then choose 'device manager' (top left) This will list the hardware on your computer. Expand 'Mice' Right click on your mouse/trackpad and choose uninstall. Close all the windows and restart the computer. It will load the new driver automatically.

Hi! I think youre probably having a jumping cursor where the cursor jumps from one place to another while typing an email or something. You may got to control panel - hardware - mouse then look for the check box that you can tick on that says "Tap off while typing" and this should fix the problem. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com!

Cursor won't stay where I move it with the mouse

Hi, your first problem (and possibly second problem) sounds like it's the "Insert" function on your keyboard. I've seen this a lot. Find the Insert key on your keyboard. It's normally off to the right side with the Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys. When you have the problem, press the Insert key and then keep typing. It should toggle between the cursor moving with typing, and not. If this was helpful, please rate my response. Thanks!

Mouse pad problem, cursor is moving but click function is not working

Try to enter BIOS (press ESC on start up) and see if mousepad is set correctly.
Otherwise try to download updated drivers from Toshiba website.
