What in the world!! I have the Smart Label Printer 450, it is not advancing the label, and the power button is flashing. It will not print a label at all at this point, and when it will end up printing a...

Unfortunately, this is usually an indication that the label roll in the printer are too old. This action is by design, compatible labels should have a black rectangle on the reverse side and the Smart Label printer uses the black rectangle to orient the label. This means your Smart Label doesn't think its wasting labels, it's just trying to run through what it considers to be unsuitable labels as fast as it can. If you're only printing one label at a time you can recover some labels by correctly the label's line up after each label you print but there's nothing you can do so that your printer will properly advance its current labels.

Remove the current roll, open a new boxed label roll, remove a sealed roll, cut open the sealed plastic, remove fresh label roll and load it in your Label Printer. Power the label printer back on and press the label advance button, it should correctly line up.

Microsft Word is probably not only the best but if not the only solution. Test print a label or two, at a time and then a sheet, at a time. Attempting to print muliple sheets from a file associated with a different, standard, printer may not line up well enough to print pages and pages, unattended.

What you see between these ---> < - > <---- Brackets are actions for you to perform.

You'll may wish to choose a Microsft Word Template, you can do that by opening Microsoft Word, <Help>, <Tempates> or (if you cannot find templates) via: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/ select a label from your file and pick the number from the list that corresponds with the label on the box of labels. Please forgive the ambiguity, I'm working blind without knowing your Operating System or your version of Word, what printer, etc... This is general enough for most systems.

Here's the order:
  1. Click <Tools>, <Letters and Mailings>, Click <Envelopes and Labels>.
  2. Click the <Labels> tab, and Click <Options>.
  3. First choose the printer you want to use and next the label supplier number from the box sheets that you'll print your labels on.
  4. Click <Product Number>, scroll to the corresponding number from the label box. click Ok
  5. Click <Envelopes and Labels>, Click <New Document> and a label document will open.
  6. Type data onto the labels you choose to use, Avery number work well with Word .
  7. Click <File>, Click <Print>.
Now, you could try to make a copy of your label list, to experiment with, but it's probably best that you re-type the labels into each of the boxes while reading from your label program; until your PC is returned

Hi there

Does this printer connected with your computer? If yes, there is a problem on printer driver. You need to add new printer with same name and if this successfully installed, you can delete the old printer icon.

When there is errors message or wrong command of printing, the usual problem is corrupted driver.

Another way to correct this is to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver if the first solution does not work.

If still not working, try this download and install the print diagnostics software. It will helps you to find and fix errors in the windows registry. Here is the link http://www.out-of-warranty.com/print-diagnostic-utility-for-hp-lexmark-canon-dell-xerox-and-everything-else/. Click on the blue text PRINT DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY and it will download automatically. Unzip it to install to your computer.

I hope these solutions solve your problem. Regards.
