Battery no longer works. Unit will not switch on. There is no resistance on the reset button. s/n 0248UC5438

You can start by checking your fuse in the unit. If it tests good, then check for swollen caps or burnt resisters.

Do this for your console Elliptical:Removethe bolts or screws securing the console to the upright assembly. Lift theconsole and confirm that the cable connections are secure. Remove the coverfrom the console's battery bay and install a fresh set of batteries. Replacethe battery cover.2
Detachthe ends of the pedals from the crank axles. Remove the left and right discshields and side shields. Inspect the interior of the base unit and locate theflywheel.3
Inspectthe flywheel as it turns. Locate the magnet installed on the flywheel. Turn theflywheel until the magnet passes in front of the nearby reed switch. Loosen thescrew securing the switch in place. Rotate the switch to reduce the gap betweenit and the magnet. Tighten the screw.4
Replace the left and right disc shields and sideshields. Reattach the ends of the pedals to the crank axles

Hello there:
here is what you can try to do is first unplug any power going to the unit and remove the battery these units have a internal reset device that will reset it'self after a given amount of time which is about 1 hour.
during this time press in on the power button for 2 minutes and if it has a reset button it press in on this for 2 min leave the battery and the power out of the unit for the rest of the remaining time i had mentioned.
now plug in the power cord back in it and start the unit now if it works ok simply turn off and replace the battery and you are now done ok

How to change temperature display mode on control panel LCD: 1. Holding AMB button pressed, TEMP DOWN condition of 3 seconds or longer will shift the unit from °C to °F. 2. Switching on battery power from off condition, the default unit, °C will be displayed.

k, to erase internal memory do this:
1-Turn off device.
2-Hold power to start but keep it held + the menu button, hold those UNTIL the menu comes up.
3-let go of the switch and button and scroll to 'erase internal memory.

Do you feel a light click when you push the power button?
If not the switch is probably defective, If you do feel a click, hold it there for several seconds. It should switch off.

There's a "hidden" switch on the lower part that makes it not use the battery. You can switch it with a pencil or pen.

- Check if the battery is ok.
- Some remote control have reset button, you can find it at the front or back at the compartment of the battery push the rst button with pin or ballpen to reset it and try.
- Some remote control have selector switch in both remote control and at the board inside the unit. Try to transfer the switch button from A to B and also at the board inside the unit and reset the remote control and try.Or need to reconfigure the remote control to select the frequency.
- Try your remote control to other unit with same brand as yours to confirm if your remote control is really need a replacement. If it works then your receiver board in the unit is need a replacement. Or if wont work then you have to buy a new remote control. But if you have no budget then try to switch on the unit using emergency button to operate the unit.

"To power the unit back on, press the "Mode" and "Reset" buttons at the same time. Let go of those two buttons, press the power button, and the unit will turn back on."
If the unit is no longer displaying maps or lap data in the PC downloaded history ....perform a reset (as above) AFTER deleting all the Garmin HISTORY. This is done on the unit by navigating through HISTORY to "DELETE ALL" ---> now perform a soft reset.
