All oreck uprights take bag type CC. I would Recommend buying oreck brand bags. they have the only patton on the bags. off brand bags will work but they will leak and tear and break.

Depends on whether you have a bag dock or not. Also would depend on whether you want a cloth disposable bag that will filter out things like pet odors or smoke and things like that, or go with a cheaper option of paper bags. If you have the bag dock, you will need the"CC" type bag.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You can contact the Oreck factory for the wiring instructions but you need to give them the model # and the serial # if needed and I will supply you with the Oreck website and the cust serv phone # listed below. Also, you can check the owner’s manual and sometimes there is a schematic that shows you if information you need for changing the motor. . So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

The belt is on properly, however the brush will spin, then stop.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Oreck XL Classic. It sounds like the belt may be stretched out and my needs replacing. The average belt change is every 4 to 6 months and to store the extra belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator. Also check the brushroll, the gray bearing ends with say on either side the words NEW or OLD and both ends need to be identical – new/new and old/old NOT new/old, if the belt and the brushroll are OK then it may be the motor but I don’t think so. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

My upright Oreck Vacuume XL 2
the main tube is clogged.
unplug it, open bag area, remove bag look for clog.
if clear, take off lower coller, pull up tube, remove blockage, either in tube or fan area.
if clear, look in bottom by intake area for blockage.
fan can not run backwards.
