How do you remove and replace the water filter for Conquest side by side

I am trouble removing the while filter. It seems to be very tight and I don't want to pull to hard on it for fear of breaking it and causing a leak. There are no instructions with the unit that came with the house.

Where is the water filter located?..

if it is inside the refrigerator top shelf, then just twist it countr clock wise and it would fall down right away.

if it is at the bottom front freezer side, turn it also counter clock wise and pull it to the front. it is just being hold on to by an o-ring at the tip of the filter.

tnx 4 using fixya,

GE Fridge - The water filter bypass plug is stuck

Should just take a quarter turn CCW to remove. You may loose a few drips of water, but the water shuts off automatically when the plug or a filter is removed. A wrench should not be needed to do this.

My Whirlpool side y side refrigerator purchased last year august is not dispensin water but making ice. I have replaced the filter but still not dispensing water.

there iis a switch on the door dispenser that operates when you slip your glas up for cold water and in doing this you should hear a click from the solinoid when this part of operation takes place
if no noise then probable the solinoid is faulty
if there is a noise then disconnect pipe going up inside of door which in toe kick area try pushinhing on switch to operate if no water comes out remove filter and try again, water should come out where the filter is situated
if no go replace water valve

Water line hooked up makes ice but no water from dispenser

Have a look at the back of the fridge. There are 2 valves that feed the ice maker and the water dispenser. Have someone push the dispenser button while you feel which solonoid activates.Once located, remove that single pipe from that valve and reactivate the dispencer button. If water shoots out then you know the problem is further on. I would suspect there is then an issue with the water filter. Remove it and inspect for defects. If the filter is old, suggest you replace it as they clog up reasonably quickly. Retry. Please let me know.

Water Filter

most whirlpools have the filter located in the bottom kickplate, right below the freezer door. turn counter-clockwise and toward you to remove. if it has never been removed before, they are hard to get out the first time.

Water line to the water dispenser has rotted; best way to replace

take and get a coulpling at the hardware stoe that is real tight inside of the tubing and then you can either gently pull the new line into the door after removeing the inside of the refrigerator and getting to the access to the back side of the ice and water controls and replace the tunbing. have a quick connect for the coupling at the bottowm of the freever door so that all you have to do is uncoiuple it and remove the door. Be careful not to pinch the tubing when you remove the door ever. Good Luck and you can ask me more questipons here at FixYa. Please don't forget to rate this solution fo hte answer please. Happy Neew Year!!!
