It sounds like the internal power board is almost dead. You could search the Web for a repacement if you beleive that you have the ability to replace it. If not, then there is nothing to do but take it to a repair shop I'm afraid

The monitor setup box and the OSD box pop up all the time making it absolutely impossible to use the monitor as I can see nothing behind these boxes. How can I remove them?

Helo Lorraine , try this , shut off your monitor and wait a while, then take out the power plug and spray contactspray on the on /off and menu and all the other switches under the screen and keep on pushing on the switches a lot of time, then wait a few hours till the spray is dry, then put in the powerplug again and swith the monitor on. Now the monitor is allright and working as it should.

My pe1229 LCD monitor wan't power on. but my speakers power on what is the problem

unplug from the wall the monitor. wait 2 minutes and plug in again. while doing this (waiting) check that the VGA (shown below in blue) or whatever kind of cable that you have from the computer to the monitor is plugged in and seated well. a good way to find this out is to unscrew and unplug it, then plug it back in and re screw and tighten (only finger tight) the screw connectors.12_1_2011_5_52_44_pm.jpg12_1_2011_5_52_58_pm.jpgthen power back on the monitor, keep the computer turned on. and this way you will know if the monitor is getting a signal or not. if it is not. (shown by a no signal on your screen text) then take the monitor to a different computer. test it there. if it goes on then it is not the monitor and is either the video card or the drivers for it and you can then re ask the question based on those variables.

Smasung model la32c630k1mxrd takes 5 minutes for the picture to clear up, then crystal clear until i turn off. Then need to wait 5 mins again for the picture to come right. powersupply fault??

Power supply is always the first palce to check, unstable DC can cause a lot of problem. You can have problem in the T-CON or the main board itself. You may have to use the cold spray for electronics troubleshooting to locate the bad component.

vern679, When strange crazy stuff occurs with LCD TV/Monitors, you should always suspect that the cause will be an unstable or failed "switch-mode-power-supply" inside the unit. Please let us here at fixya know how you resolve this LCD monitor issue!! Bye for now. 12fixlouie

Philips monitor

Sounds like you have a bad inverter. You will need to open up the monitor to get to the screen to access the inverter board and replace it. If you are handy you can do the job yourself but if not then you will need to take it in to a computer repair shop to have it serviced. Depending on how old this monitor is, the cost of the repair maybe prohibitive.
