Rare screen problem ( i can`t see song titles and band names)
Hi, i have used my sony player since january, but yesterday it screen shows a rare problem: the screen is still working, but it shows some white band over the names of bands or songs (or an option), or a white square in the case of letters or pictures preview, and i can`t see the names of any band or song. Is weird because I can see pictures when i choose one, and i stil can use my player to hear music. I need your help because a love my mp3 player.

Sony's are especially sensitive to certain characters - it is possible that there is a character in the band/song name that is causing the defect - this is unlikely, since you say that it's occurring on all songs. Try resetting the language back to English in the Sony menu just to be sure.
Another possibility is that the ID3 tag is in a version that is not supported by the player. Unfortunately, I went through all of the product documentation, and it doesn't say which ID3 tag versions it is compatible with. This is time-consuming, but you could downgrade your ID3 tag editor, delete all songs off your player, and then reload them to be sure.

Plug in your MP3 player to your computer. Open the player list. Locate the songs you want to change and right click on the song. One of the options listed should be "rename". Simply type in the name you wish and left click in any blank area on the screen.
The Sony NWZ-3438F uses only the 'Track #' in the tag to order songs, not file name, not 'Disc #', and not 'Title.' Your file names are likely in the order you want, but the tags are likely not updated with the same information. Use a program (like mp3tag) to modify the tags and assign the 'Track #' in the order that you want it to play. Good luck!
I clearly understand your problem.....the best way to sort it would be to create a new music folder...put all album folders separately in this new folder....rename songs in the respective albums folder and then sync this folder to your player....try with a couple of songs first...if it works you can change your entire library as mentioned above....a difficult job...but helps manage your music better..:)
When you installed the songs all you installed was the title. I had this problem with my rca pearl,
you must downlad the song and not just the title of the song o.k.
Try again with the whole song.
when you put your cd's together put them as a playlist
Go to Windows Media Player under the Sync tab, over on the far left should be the name of the player, click on it and find the name of the song by album title, artist, or whatever, click on the title and click delete and you should be able to delete any song you like without deleting them all
I assume this is in a PC?
Simply right click each title whilst in the PC and click on 'Rename'
Or click file/save as/and give the file a name
This incidently will leave an un-named copy on the computer
The funny~.mp3 names are usually because the title field is not filled in in the mp3 property tags, so it uses the DOS version of the filename for the title. Under windows, right click the song and select properties->summary->advanced, and make sure that the title field under "description" has what you want in it. I don't think even the makers of Ilo know how it organizes the files.
