Ice buildup in bottom of freezer--puddle of water on floor

this sounds like your freezer is operating properly, except that the drainage of the water when going through the defrosting mode is not draining properly, pooling on the bottom of the freezer and then freezing. Check the drainage hose for the defrost in the lower pan. I would remove everything, place in ice chest, let the unit completely thaw out and then inspect. I hope this is beneficial.

Puddles of water in the fridge

OK that sounds like Ice may be blocking the defrost condensate drain. I will need your model number to help me to identify your model better but can leave you with some information about water leaking inside the freezer or fresh food compartment. Sears use a model number found around your door frame and looks like this for example 312.56989 Be right back with some links, Thanks Sea Breeze

My GE side by side refrigerator is leaving a puddle on the floor in the morning. There is also a frozen puddle on the bottom of the freezer. What might be wrong?

You will need to remove the bottom freezer crisper and check the defrost drain , to see if it is iced over . If so , then use a hairdryer to melt the ice ( hot water also helps ) . When you see the drain , ( could be obvious obstruction from plastic ) , use a small hose inserted into the hole , to blow thru , to remove any unseen debris blockage .
You may have to remove the rear inside freezer panel to access this drain , depending on your model number .

Water leaking from inside freeze.....

common issue.....sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

Freezer stopped freezing...Frigidaire Side by side PLHS267ZAB6

Hi,
Oh dear. I think you need to find helpful neighbours to keep things frozen while ths is sorted out.

If the compressor is still running, there can be 2 causes for this.

#1 The compressor is not pumping, but vibrating (making more of a buzzing sound than normal).
This is a realatively quick fix needing just a component replacement.

#2 The refrigerant gas has escaped, so there is nothing to pump.
This is usually impossible to repair on domestic models due to construction methods.

If the compresor is just running normally, then this is what's happened I'm afraid.

Hopefully this information will assist you to take the right action.

A rating of Fixya is usually given for accurate concise information, with helpful and thanks given to partial solutions.

Thank you for using Fixya!
