I need to know where I can buy a transformer for my m1.5t carver amp or at least get a part number for it?

Try the Carver forum . The only place that might have one is the service centre in Snohomish Washington. I have rebuilt MANY 1.5t's....what led you to believe it is the transformer ? They rarely go, unless the amp was overfused. Shout me back...I can probably help you. Oh and the part number is "power transformer for a 1.5t"....it is unique to the 1.5t and one from a PM 1.5t ( professional version ) will NOT work. ....Rob

Is it normal for carver power amps to have a slight hum? I have a carver-55x

Hum can come from a jillion different places. Is this hum coming from the unit with no speakers connected, or is it heard through the speakers? What sources are being used? What cables? Are thereany common sources of interference near? Troubleshooting is difficult without much information.

I have the following equipment and am going crazy trying to figure out how they get connected together. I also have the Carver Multi CD player and Carver Cassette Deck which I was able to connect to the...

Get a separate amp for the 901's and the rest falls into place.

1,2, 5) Place the 901 Active EQ between the pre/main front OUT of the receiver and the TFM-55X. Attach the 901's. Keep track of the jumpers you remove from the receiver. Or replace the jumpers with RCA splitter cables so you still have pre/main connection but can share the output with the TFM.

3) Pinnacle subwoofer (self-powered?) to the subwoofer out of the receiver.

4) Bose (AMS???) 5. As surrounds on the receiver. Place the sub module toward the rear so it mates sonically and directionally with them.

What? No center speaker? I'd get something more robust with bass capabilities, like a pair Bose 301 series 1's because the tweeters face in one direction only.

Except for the amps and the cube stuff that is essentially what I have. 6.1 with full-range speakers everywhere.

Carver amp started making a low fluttering sound.

I have a Carver amp which developed a "hum" also. As a troubleshooting step only (long term this is NOT a solution) you can use a ground plug adapter that removes the ground lug from the unit. This is an adapter that has THREE (Line, Neutral, Ground) female sockets for the amp to be plugged into, and TWO male plugs to go into a wall socket. If the buzz goes away, you've got a leaky capacitor in the Power Supply section of the amp. It will take some doing to actually fix the problem, but this will narrow down the cause.

The fan in my Carver PM-350 does not spin - Need replacment

im from germany
i had the same problem with my carver pm-350.
after a few search trough the web i found the right fan-motor at ebay.com (usa). the name of the offerer was thomething like "woodentrain...." it was offered as a elektromotor for H0-train (40V). the only thing you have to do is to cut the shaft on one side of the motor if you want to use it in your amp.
in my caase i had to search for the type (RS-365SH) (mabuchi?), but maybe your amp uses an other fan-motor..

Best amps for bose 901

You need an amplifier with at least 200 wpc to get the most out of your BOSE. Look into getting a NAD, ADCOM or CARVER amplifier. I prefer CARVER myself. I am running a CARVER M-500T(251 wpc) on my 901's and they sound incredible.

Connecting NAD 314 Receiver\ preamp to Carver M-500t to speakers

Dear Tim,
Yes, you can connect your NAD as a preamp to the Carver power Amp.

Connect the NAD's pre-out to the input of the Carver Power Amp. You can then connect the Klipsch speaker to the Carver. Set the gain control on the NAD.

Now you should be able to control all the input and the main volume control from the NAD.

Carver Sound Problems

your going to need this place to download the remedy's for your system http://www.euras.com/repair_tips_1/CARVER/AV505/AV505_CARVER.htm

if it is not working then there is another serious problem , and it could be the amp IC or the volume IC but tests will need to be done to determine what is causing the failure , but it does sound like amp IC as a suspect since the rear were not even working , did the volume seem different when turning it up or down before the center quit or after the center quit?
