The temperature sensor was just replaced. Also the evvaporator fan. This morning, altho not frozen up it refistered a bit below 30. Is there some other relay or control mechanism that can be responsible?

The thermostat and evaporator fan were already replaced last week. Yet this morning the temperature was a bit less than 30 degrees (altho there was no freezing). And that is on a setting of only ONE ! ! ! Is there some other switch or relay or control that might be the problem?

Hello sharon764,
Huuum at your service,

You said, Your Sub Zero side by side refrigerator compartment will not cycle off even tho temperature is 30-32 degrees.

When a refrigerated appliance will not cycle off and on as the temperature calls for, the thermostat is always the problem.
And if it is allowed to continue doing so, you will eventually or suddenly find your self with a enormous compressor replacement bill. Because if the compressor does not rest in between it's cooling obligation, it will burn it self out! So this was a good move to find this out now!
And a Sub Zero most people do not trash just like that and buy new, either!
(like some people for 20 -30 years working 15 hour days with no day off)

You need Service and the correction asap.

Happy to advice you!
Bless you

As you probably know, the recommended temperature range is between 35-45 F so if you control will not allow you to set this, the sensor or associated regulator has failed.

Freezer not working and vacuum condenser flashing

Its an indication that your compressor is running hotter than normal due to a dust/hair clogged condenser coi. Remove the machine compartment cover on the top. This is usually held in place with two 12" long spring clips, sometimes its held in place with two screws, the former will tilt out by hand, the latter will not. Look at the outer side of the condenser coil, opposite from the compressor(s) and the fan motor. is it thick with dust and pet hair? If you can see any aluminum shining, its probably not that bad, and i would then check to see if the condenser fan motor is running. This fan motor pulls in cooler air from your kitchen, across the condenser coil, through the fan itself, then blows it further across the compressor(s). If this fan is not blowing, the compressors wont get cooled, and prematurely shut off during refrigeration cycle. If this fan is blowing, and condenser is cleared, you have more serious problems, and i would recommend you have an Expert Sub-Zero Refrigerator Repair service inspect and diagnose your problem

Hi my subzero 650 refrigerator temperature keeps rising up to 42 degrees. Even after manually loweing the temperature it continues to rise again. Whats the probloem and how can I fix it?

If your refrigerator has an electronic control board, this could be the problem (fresh food compartment control on the board). Or there may be a problem with the damper assembly that opens and closes allowing cold air from the freezer compartment (if available on your particular model). In either case, consult an appliance service company.

The temp for the fridge is about right and -18 for the freezer is ok so check to see if the water filter is plugged, at 8 degrees Celsius is about 18 degrees fht. Which is freezing so the numbers don't add up. 26 degrees below zero on the freezer side is what you want if it that cold it could have frozen the water line.

The temperature won't go down below 48 degrees

Maybe be defrost problem. If there is ice build up in back of freezer then its not defrosting and blocking air flow. also made sure fan is working on inside and outside coils. May need to call in a tech if any of the 3 problems are present. can also be freon, compressor or control problem.

The freezer does not maintain its temperature periodically. It will go from 0 -70, melt everything and return to 0. started last week and happens about 24-36 hours apart. Repairman (long time sub zero...

Is the freezer side empty or nearly so? All modern frost-free units must go through a defrost cycle every 8-12 hours of accumulated running time. That figures out to every 20-40 hours in real life, and the box will be in defrost for maybe 15-30 minutes, depending on design. If the box is full of frozen food, the cycle goes unnoticed as you cannot freeze and thaw food that fast (the food actually keeps the compartment cold during the cycle). However, if the box is full of air, the temperature can change very rapidly. I suspect this to be your case. I am dumbfounded that your servicer didn't explain this to you.

Sub zero refrig - ice forming inside

The solution posted previously is TOTALLY WRONG. A Sub Zero ref doesn't have a heating element in the fresh food section. Only in the Frozen food section. It has 2 totally separate systems for each section. 2 Compressors and 2 evaporators. They share a condenser. If you are having ice build up in the refrigerator then the problem you are having is a refrigerant leak in the fresh food evaporator. You need to have a certified tech come out and replace the evaporator in your refrigerator section of your Sub Zero. Not sure what you are asking about the thermostat.
