Taking a camera from a near freezing environment into a lovely warm house can cause condensation to form inside the camera. Mant cameras are designed to close themselves down if they sense any moisture so I suggest leaving the camera in a nice warm air flow. Not hot, just warm and leave the batteries and card out and the doors open to allow some warm air to circulate inside the camera. It could take some time. Also make sure the battery contacts aren't corroded or dirty and make sure the memory card is clean too. If that doesn't work I'd guess some damage had been caused by the moisture....... BMW

Why wont my HP photosmart R967 turn on battery is new and docking station is fine but it will turn on if connected to docking station

It is likely the battery is not making contact properly or is not getting fully charged.
Check the instructions on battery connection on page 9 and confirm the lights are blinking correctly to show battery is charging.

How do u charge the camera? What does the charger look like?

You can charge the batteries in three ways
1. Using an AC power adapter. Connect the AC power adapter to the camera trough the power adapter connector below the usb connector on the right side of the camera (looking from front). Then connect it to the AC power outlet.
2. If you have an optional HP Photosmart camera dock, plug the camera in the dock and then dock the camera. Same thing if you have a wireless dock.

While the battery is charging, the battery charging light in the camera blinks. Once the battery is fully charged, the blinking light stays solid.

It is better that you read the user manual for the camera. If you dont have one, download it free from the web: http://www.retrevo.com/search/v2/jsp/mytrevo/myTrevo.jsp?page=man

The charging procedure is given with figures on page 6.

My camera was new in 2005 4 mos ago it quit working it will not turn on with cord or battery power, will now turn on.

Its either condensation on the circuits, or condenser dried up. Leave it in a dry place for a month, then try it with fresh batteries.

Hi, I purchased an HP photosmart 812 w/dock some time ago. Since purchase it has not been able to hold any power. I have tried every battery recommended for it. Including some pretty pricy ones. When I put...

Sorry greg but your problem is inside the camera. and unfortunately if you bought it some time ago you probably do not have a warranty so hopefully santa will be nice. If he isn't you could always call hp and see if they can fix it for you and not have it cost an arm and a leg. Sorry for the news.

My hp photosmart m525 camara is stuck in dock mode

I've also had similar problems with a HP M425--periodically it seems to get stuck in "docking mode". Where I plug in the USB on the side is clean, but I forgot about the place to plug in a different type of cord on the bottom. Cleaning these contacts with a pin solved the problem.

Flashing lights

I read your posting about changing the batteries. I tried it once and it did not work. Then, I tried it again a few weeks later and the new batteries made it work. I have not tried the rechargable batteries again. I am afraid to remove the batteries I placed in the camera. I hope this helps you. I think there must be a sensor that gets reset at some point and the issue stops. Who knows. Good luck!!!

HP also suggested to reset the camera as follows:
To Reset The Camera:
1. Remove the memory card and turn on the camera.
2. Open the battery compartment and remove the batteries.
3. Wait at least ten seconds.
4. Reinsert the batteries and turn on the camera.

I also found information regarding a similar problem with another model at this link:

Focus Assist Light and LCD Flash Simultaneously

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/fastFaqLiteDocument?lc=de&cc=ch&dlc=de&docname=c00240207

The Issue:
When the HP Photosmart digital camera is placed on the dock without batteries, the AF assistance LED and LCD could blink at the same time. Explanation It seems that the super-capacitor on the camera senses the voltage supplied by either the AC adapter or batteries when they are inserted. This is more an annoyance rather than an actual failure on the device. The microcontroller (Dang) senses the voltage and sends a signal to the LCD and AF assistant LED. This is what some times is called a WAD (working as designed). If batteries are present or the super-capacitor is charged, the AC adapter will not trigger this behavior. This can be tried by inserting some batteries on the camera for 3 or 5 minutes, then remove them and place the camera on the dock. No blinking should be present.
