Hello, pull the unit out away from the wall. down the bottom under the either cardboard or metal cover that you would remove you will see a blue water inlet valve. Here is a basic video on how to test the valve. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlYCJr9dc3E if you are able to jump L to V on the icemaker and you hear the water valve humming and you do get water inside the icemaker then there would be an issue with the icemaker and you would have to replace the icemaker. If you did not get water after jumping L to V then there would be an issue with the water inlet valve and you would replace the water inlet valve. Before performing any of these tests assure that the filter in your unit does not need changeing whereas a clogged filter will prevent the water from going to the icemaker as well. If you have any further questions message me back. Please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future. Thanks
Rick

No ice from icemaker model kenmore number of fridge is 106.56152500

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Kenmore 56541 side by side icemaker nor making ice The in door water dispencer works Arm on tray is on no water getting to tray

1.Bad water valve located in the back bottom of refrigerator.
2. Frozen fill tube going into back of ice maker. (common problem)
3. Ice maker not cycling. Pour water into ice maker cavity until near filled.
Wait a few hours and see if it dumps.
4.In rare cases, the switch in the ice maker body fails. Ice maker will cycle but not tell water valve to refill.

The water dispenser on the door works, but the ice maker won't make ice

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it dumps the cubes after freezing , but doesn't refill with water , then replace the water inlet valve ( part that wall water line connects to on fridge ). If the icemaker does not dump and holds the frozen cubes , replace the icemaker . Also check the fill tube at the icemaker to make sure it is not frozen closed , due to a seeping water valve , and make sure the coils are clean beneath refrig of dust , lint , pet hair , etc.

Not putting water into ice maker to make ice

Try pouring 1/2 cup of water into the icemaker and if it dumps ice , then the water valve or fill tube is the problem . If it does not dump , then the icemaker is the problem , or , freezer is not cold enough . Check your coils under the refrig to make sure they are clean and the fan that cools the compressor is working ( and the freezer fan also ) .

Kenmore refer #70162990 ice maker leaking into storage tray

Please confirm you have given the complete model number.

If the icemaker has a bail wire to control how much ice is in the bin, there is a fill switch inside the front cover of the ice maker which allows you to increase or decrease the amount of fill.

You may also have a cracked or corroded ice mold. Check by filling the icemaker with water manually, and watching to see if it drips once the initial overfill stops dripping. This would also be indicated by the ice cubes being smaller than usual.

Ice maker jambed-now no water

The ice maker must be re-primed with water to sense frozen ice in the tray, dump, and refill. Use a cup or glass to manually pour the water into the tray just below the top of the blades. It should freeze, dump, and refill.

Ice maker quit making ice

your refrig has a built in bypass in the filter housing so yes it will work with out a filter in place. if you have not replaced your filter in the last 6 months that is likely the problem. Hollow cubes are usually a sign of not enough water getting into the icemaker then it cycles too fast and harvests hollow cubes.

when the hollow cubes fall into your bucket they bust and put water in with your cubes freezing them together. so by solving your water supply problem you'll solve most of your icemaking issues..
