My AF-S Nikkor 55-200 lens

My AF-S Nikkor 55-200 lens will not take a picture in autofocus mode( D-40 camera). The motor will adjust the lens but the picture will not take. It will take a picture in manual mode The autofocus works fine with the 18-55 lens that came with it.

Hi, I had this problem and found that the level inside the camera for the exposure shutter was bent inwards. This was preventing the lens from adjusting the exposure and also from autofocusing. To fix I just bent it back outwards
