2003 F-150 Extended cab. The battery dies, apparently because the air conditioner is running while the truck is off. Also, while driving down the road, a couple of times there's been a beeping sound similar to the "door ajar" sound, but slightly higher pitch and longer beeps. It beeps 4 long times, then hesitates and beeps 4 more times. Does this a few times, then stops. I have no idea what's causing it. This all started after the truck sat for a couple of days in heavy rain. Got in the truck, found dead battery. Replaced battery, truck would crank but not start. Disconnected battery and came back to it in the morning. Reconnected battery, truck started, but the windshield wipers wouldn't run and the radio wasn't working properly... but after driving the truck across town, both problems seemed to fix themselves. Since then though, the air conditioner keeps running after the truck is turned off and the key is removed. Any ideas what could be going on here?

indicates that then alternator is not working and power to drive the ac is being diverted from the ignition system
have an accredited auto electrician check out the charging system( alternator , regulator , load test battery, wiring)
My engine light in my 2002 GMC Sonoma has been on for the past four weeks. Yesterday I had an oil change done on my truck with a local mechanic. He turned the engine light off, but it came on soon after leaving his shop.
This morning I went to start my truck and there was NO power whatsoever. After repeatedly turning the key, I soon saw a slight movement on the battery display, but no lights would come on. It just seemed like it wasn't getting any power. I changed the battery two years ago, so it should be fine.
Eventually, the truck received full power and started, more less out of no where. It wouldn't hold an idle and would just die if i took my foot off the gas.
Hopefully someone has a solution for me.
Thanks.
From what you describe, it sounds like your alternator died. The battery's main function is to provide power to start the vehicle. Once started, the alternator takes over and provides the main source of power to the truck, and also recharges the battery. When the alternator stops working, the car starts to run solely off the battery. It will work for a little while, but as the battery starts to lose power, strange things will happen with the electronics. The computers and other electronics that control the vehicle are very dependent on a constant, steady flow of voltage. When that voltage dips below 11 or 10 volts, the car may start to run badly or strange things may happen with electrical system. When there was finally not enough power to keep the car running, it shut off. Of course, once this happens, there will not be enough power left to start the truck back up.
How much have you driven vehicle? You need to drive long enough for computer to reset refrence points onboard. If that does not work, you have a bad voltage limiter on your instrument cluster board!
Possible deposit buildup in the throttle body and specifically the IAC (idle air control chambers). This causes disturbance and your systems ability to control air/fuel mixtures at near idle conditions .Perform service, recomending removal of the IAC valve and cleaning with an O2 safe injection cleaner.3M makes a very good line of products including 3M"do it yourself" fuel system tune up pn#8963.Also verify proper EGR operation and no sticky valve or build up there.....good luck
just check weather all spark plugs are ok, even if one misfires then turning ac on will stop the engine. during motion the ac manages to get the power from other plugs. i hope this solves ur problm.
