Question about Lexmark Office Equipment & Supplies
This response presumes that you are using a 32-bit version of the Vista operating system. If that is the case, the proper driver file, per Lexmark is cjrX6100EN.exe (this is in the U.S.), and can be downloaded from this page: http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi.
If you are attempting to use the Lexmark All-in-One Center for scanning on this basis, however, it will fail, and you will have to use the Windows Scanners and Cameras, or the Photo Gallery, functions to use the scanning features. It is indicated that the driver supports scanning, the All-in-One Center is not included.
Though you haven't indicated what part of the driver download/install isn't working for you, you can find instructions for installation at this page: http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/support.cgi. I would suggest creating a folder (either on your desktop or in a location which will be easy for you to work with) in which to place the file upon download. Then, double-click the file, and it should follow routine setup procedures. If it does not automatically install, thereby enabling your printer, please let me know. Make sure that all programs are disabled, particularly IE, antivirus and antispyware programs, as these often interfere with installation.
These are quite general instructions, I realize, but I can not tell exactly what is not working when the driver download was previously attempted. If there are further problems, please post back and I will be happy to assist with further detailed installation.
If this information assists you in resolving the problem, please take a moment to rate the solution at a "FixYa" level. If you do not feel that you can rate at a "FixYa", please post back with more information regarding what has occurred and/or more details regarding the situation, and I will gladly help you until we have reached a definitive solution. Thank you for using and rating FixYa!

If you navigate to lexmarks driver site you will see the following :
"The Vista drivers available on the Lexmark website do not contain the All-In-One Center. They are minimum drivers. Although the scan drivers are shipped with the web package, they cannot be used by the All-In-One Center since it is not included. Please use Windows Scanners and Cameras or Photo Gallery for Scanning."
The All-In-One Center is the software necessary for that

if you are sure that you have the right driver ..run it to install after that connect the printer ..and let the automatic detection find and run the wizard ...
if it is not seing it auto...jus go to cotrol panel look for add new hardware ...run the wizard click already aded ...and let it find the driver automatically ...it will work ...
there is a posibility that you run vista on 64 and got the 32 driver ..be sure about these things and do it again ...or download and run them one by one if you are not sure about ...
