How do I apply an underscore in an email address?

On most keyboards, the underscore is Shift+Hyphen (usually to the right of 0 on the standard keyboard's row above the QWERTY keys). If you want to underline an email address and your email program supports HTML, you can use <span style="text-decoration: underline;">email@address.com </span>. (You could alternatively make the email address a mail-to link, <a href="mailto:email@address.com">email@address.com</a> .)

I hope this helps.

Then replace the Keyboard.

http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2008/01/07/service-manuals-for-sony-vaio-laptops-notebooks/

In the above link where it states in bold letters -
Service manuals for Sony VAIO laptops and notebooks,

,left-click on - Get it here - to the right of VGN-AR.

This Service Manual is in PDF file format. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

After you click on the file name, (VGN-AR), it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.

Not your laptop, but perhaps this will give more guidance, in removing and replacing the Keyboard,

1) http://www.insidemylaptop.com/how-to-disassemble-asus-ux50v-laptop/

2) http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disassemble-asus-n53s-laptop-fix-dc-power-jack/

Just follow the steps up to removing the Keyboard. These are listed just to give you more info on replacing a Keyboard, not disassembling the entire laptop.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

[ WOW, that Keyboard is expensive! Suggest you look around for a better deal. I just posted that example to give you info. Average price SHOULD be no more than $40 to $50. Ebay? ]

How will i use the @ button when i use shift and number 2 the @ button did not appear... Sony Vaio SR series

Hi,
The standard keyboard language and widely used setting is "ENGLISH (US)"
Set the Keyboard layout to English US so that you have standard keys for symbols etc. like @ sign with SHIFT+2 etc.

The keyboard layout / Language of your PC may have been different (other than English US), so follow these steps to select the International keyboard layout:

- Go to Control Panel - Regional and Language settings
- On the Keyboards and Language tab, click Change keyboards.
- Click Add.
- Expand the language that you want. For example, English (United States).
- Expand Keyboard list, select the United States-International check box, and then click OK.
- In the Default input language list, click Language name - United States-International (where Language name is the language that you selected in step 4), and then click OK two times.
- In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click OK.

The above steps would change the Keyboard Layout settings to 'English US' and you would be able to type @ sign with SHIFT+2

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

This may be set up with foreign language settings, it is possible if you press shift and 2 or shift and ' the @ symbol appears. to change this you need to go into control panel, regions and languages, then click on the keyboards tab and change the keyboard for your type.

The fn key acts much like the shift key on your keyboard,,it is used to access the extra key functions which will be marked or written in blue on your key's.
They are supposed to be there.

Function Key Problem

your keyboard driver may be corrupt, go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down list to keyboards, click '+' sign, right click on your keyboard and select uninstal. Restart your notebook and the keyboard and drivers will be reinstalled automatically and should be as normal, but check for any updated drivers at Sony:- http://www.vaio-link.com/downloads/preinstalled/preinstalled.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&m=2303
