Hi On the refrigerator door jamb, locate a small push-button switch. This component operates the light inside the refrigerator. If the switch is malfunctioning, the light in the unit may stay on, and the heat from the lightbulb can cause cooling trouble in the box.
Step 1: Check the bulb to see if it is burned out. If not, depress the push button on the door switch.
Step 2: If the light stays on, clean the switch with a cloth. Then remove the switch from the jamb. Remove retaining screws hidden by a plastic trim piece, pry the switch out of the jamb with a screwdriver, or pry off the jamb trim to expose the switch. Then test the switch with a VOM set to the RX1 scale (instructions for using the VOM are given on page 19).
Step 3: Clip one probe of the VOM to each terminal of the switch and press the push button. The meter should read zero. If the needle on the scale moves above zero, replace the switch with a new one of the same type.
Step 4: Connect the new switch the same way the old one was connected.

Bad wiring or faulty sensor would cause the relay to be activated and tell the solonoid to open whenever it likes. I would replace the door switch or see if it is sticking otherwise you may be looking at control board problems

Whirlpool WBM39MW alarm when door opened

Just had one of these with the blinking light, fan pulsating and no cooling. The fault is the power supply section in the control module at the back. It is a 2uF 400VAC capacitor going open circuit. make sure you replace this capacitor with something equal or better rated - it is critical

I just installed a new water inlet valve on my GD25DIXHS02 Whirlpool Fridge. When I turn the water back on the water continues to run out thr door dispenser.

it sounds like the valve is stuck open, re-check the wiring on the cables and make sure that the button on the front isn't stuck. Unless you have a bad valve, it can only be opened when electricity is running through the solenoid coil (which is usually activated by the button on the front of the fridge).

My refrigerator stopped working because I left the door open for like three hours and the electricity does not go to all the fridge parts like the lighting system is off and the freezer is off every thing...

There is no sensor like you stated. Actually, when you keep open the fridge door, the cooling all will go out and hence thermostat sensor would not cut off, as required temp not reached inside the fridge.
So, the compressor would have run for long time without cut off. Due to this the overload protector trips the compressor. Remove power for 4 to 6 hrs. And then restart the fridge. But make sure you close the fridge door. Thanks.

Fridge does not get cold, lights are flashing and whoo whoo noise

Hi,
Lights which previously did not flash but now do are clear indicators of operating failure.
Refridgerators and freezers do not like being unplugged for too long. if yours has been disconnected from the power for more than a couple of days, it could be damaged and need part replacement.
The variables are cold leakage, cooling gas leakage, electrical pump failure, thermostat circuit open, thermal cut-off switch disconnected. All of the above can be dangerous - electricity, gas, over-working pump etc. so always remember what we learned in kindergarten - If in doubt don't' - good advice with anything risky.
If you set the fridge on the coldest setting, place a common thermometer inside, note the initial temperature after closing the door for 15 minutes and then leave the fridge door closed overnight, in the morning carefully touch the heat transfer coils at the back, they should be hot all over to the touch. Open the door and check if the temperature has dropped.
If the whoo whoo noise is coming from the pump (often located in a black closed saucepan-sized unit you need to contact a qualified Whirlpool fitter.
If the whoo whoo noise is coming from around the edge of the door, the airtight seal is possibly defective. The seals often get dust etc. trapped in the accordian-like sealing strips around the entire door so, being careful not to damage the seal, clean the inner grooves - an old toothbrush and household cleaner generally work well.
If the fridge is a self-defrosting type, the lights may be indicating that it is stuck in defrost mode - check the Whirlpool website for troubleshooting temperature settings. There is often a small regulator switch which can break down. If you think that this is where the noise is coming from do not go fiddling about - electricity is a to be treated with care. Look for scorch marks or listen for crackling noise indicating a short sparking. Unplug the fridge before poking around the wires. A connector may have been dislodged and needs to be reattached so double-check that the power is off before reattaching the loose wire. It should be obvious where it plugs in but if not, don't go touching different tabs.
Re-read the installation and operating manual or call a fridge repair service if you are unable to find the fault. You can save time and repair costs by telling the repair person what you have tested and the results.
The built-in thermostat could be malfunctioning and preventing the coolant coils to absorb heat.
Sometimes the defrost drip tube can become blocked. This generally runs down the back into a drip tray. You should be able to check for blockage by thoroughly cleaning the tray end of the tube and blowing through it. Don't ****.
I hope this helps,
jenni.

Maytag Water Dispenser Problem

If your water supply line is not pinched closed somewhere and the fridge has electricity supplied then it may be the solenoid operated water supply valve that has failed. This electric actuated valve should open when you activate the switch in the door with your glass.

Whirlpool Side By Side GD5RHAXNQ00-Electrical Issue

The arcing noise is just that, a loose connection causing electricity to arc from one place to another. this is initiated by opening the door and closing the light switch. The small glow is from a small amount of voltage reaching the bulb. If you are inclined, repair it. remove the cover, look for the burnt wire or connection. If its a removable part, replace it. If not clean it up and/or make a new connection. One thing is for sure, it will not get any better and may get worse and burn up something more critical.
