Try the following:
For Windows XP
1. On the Desktop, right click on an empty space and select Properties.
2. A Display Properties window will open, click on the Appearance tab and on the Font size drop-down, choose Large Fonts or Extra Large and click Apply.
For Windows Vista.
1. On the Desktop, right click on an empty space and select Personalize.
2. Click on Adjust Font Sizehow do you change the - ray_tosh_1.pngbr />
3. Choose Large Scale (120 DPI) or Customhow do you change the - ray_tosh_3.pngf you want bigger font)
For Windows 7
1. On the Desktop, right click on an empty space and select Personalize, then click on Display.
2. Choose Medium or Set Custom Text Size (DPI) if you want bigger font.
Hi:
Click on your start button and then click on Control Panel, then click on Display and on the upper tabs click on Appearance and go to the bottom window and you have font size options: normal, large fonts and extra large fonts. Choose your need and click apply at the bottom and that's it.

You can get there from the display options in the control panel. You can also right-click on the screen (desktop) and access the display options from there. How it works depends on whether you have windows XP or 7. The both will do it, though.
