Question about GE WHRE5260E Top Load Washer

1 Answer

GE WHRE5260E1CC NO HOT WATER

With the hot water line on the hot water inlet i cannot get hot water. I put my hot water line on the cold water side, i got hot water. Then i replaced it with the cold water line to the cold water inlet and i got cold water. Then i swaped the water valve relays (the blue ones on top of the water valve) and neither hot or cold worked. So i placed the cold water wiring harness with the swaped relay onto the hot water side and i got hot water. So im sure that my hot water relay on the water valve is probably bad but why isnt my hot water wiring harness working? Is there another relay on that circuit board that controls the wiring harness? Im stuck now and need help.

Hi If the washer won't fill or fills very slowly, if it overfills, or if the water is the wrong temperature, the water inlet valves could be faulty. These components are easy to locate and very easy to replace, at little cost. When you suspect an inlet valve is faulty, first check to make sure the water faucets are fully turned on and properly connected to the hot and cold inlets of the valves. Then check the screens in the valves; if they're clogged, clean or replace them. If water doesn't enter the tub, set the temperature control to the HOT setting. If there is no water, set the control to the WARM setting. If all that comes out is cold water, the hot-water inlet valve is faulty. Reverse the procedure to test the cold-water valve, setting the control first on COLD and then on WARM. If the tub overfills, unplug the washer. If water still flows into the tub, the valve is stuck open. In any of these cases, the valves should probably be replaced. To check the valve assembly:

Step 1: Remove the back service panel and disconnect the hot-water and cold-water hoses to the valves.
Step 2: Remove the hoses connected to the valves inside the cabinet. Also disconnect the wires from the terminals. Back out the screws holding the valves to the machine. The inlet valves have solenoids (a coil of wire that carries a current) inside the housing. These can be tested, but chances are the valves are simply worn out.
Step 3: Tap the solenoids with a screwdriver handle. If this doesn't work, replace the entire inlet valve assembly. Repairs usually cost more than a new part. Make sure the replacement valve assembly is exactly the same type as the old one. Install it in reverse order of the way you disconnected the old one.

Put the temp select switch on HOT, start machine. If water comes out check the flow amount. If no water flow, replace inlet water valve. If there is water flow switch to COLD, start machine. If water comes out check the flow amount should be approximately equal or slightly more than flow on HOT. If no water flow, replace inlet water valve. Move selector to WARM, start machine. Now there should be twice the flow of water than there was with HOT and COLD temps. I suspect it is the HOT side of inlet water valve that has failed because machines usually rinse with COLD water.

GE WPSR3100W0AA Does not run on Hot-Cold temperature mode, only on cold- cold or warm-cold. Hot water hose and faucet are ok and ON.

you can switch the hoses to verify that the temp selector is working if you have the cold water supplied to the hot side and run the machine on hot-cold side and nothing comes out then replace the water inlet valves.

Only cold water water lines good

if you have switched your hot with your cold and now have only hot, your water inlet valve is either bad or it may not be getting the voltage to open the solenoid. Check your wiring and see if you get voltage to the hot water side of the inlet valve. if you do have voltage change out the water valve.

Possible Mixing valve Problem

I would pull the lines off the back and check the inlet filter on the hot and cold sides of the water inlet and clean the screen style filter. If you just use cold is the water cold if the cold water valve was bad then you would get no cold wate when set to cold.

My GE front load washer will not fill with water unless I put it on the tap cold setting. What could be the problem?

more than likely your water mixing valve is bad or at least the hot water side
you can check to ensure that the screen is not clogged but that is rare for hot water

Washer Fills HOT WATER ONLY

If you checked the screens at the water inlet valve and they were not clogged, then you probably have a defective water inlet valve and will have to replace it. Hope this helped.

Does this machine need hot water or cold - Tricity Bendix aw 1200

Hello , I can help , if there is only 1 water inlet hookup it will be cold and some new machines heat the water on there own , if there are 2 water inlets it would be best to connect hot and cold to unit , if you do not have a hot water line available it should still be ok to put a Y adapter on your cold water line to both connections on your unit. Let me know how it goes. Phil
