Hi Unlike a toaster, which performs the exact same function over and over, washing machines run through elaborate cycles with multiple settings. The devices that control these cycles can occasionally fail. Here's how to repair some of the common switches and timers.
Servicing the Lid Switch

The lid switch on a washer often serves as a safety switch. If the switch is not working, or if the switch opening in the lid is clogged with detergent, the machine will not run. To check and repair the lid switch:

Step 1: Unplug the machine. Clean out the lid switch port with a wood manicure stick or chopstick. Clean off any detergent buildup around the rim of the lid. Sometimes there's enough detergent encrusted on the metal to prevent the lid from closing tightly and keep the washer from operating.

Step 2: If cleaning doesn't help, remove the top of the cabinet to get at the switch. With the switch exposed, check the screws for looseness. Loose screws can cause the switch to move when the lid is closed or as the machine goes through its cycles. Check the terminals of the switch to make sure they're tight. Tighten the mounting screws after the switch is in alignment.

Step 3: Test the switch with a VOM set to the RX1 scale; procedures for using the VOM are detailed
here. Disconnect the power leads to the switch terminals and clip one probe of the VOM to each terminal. Close the lid of the washer. If the meter reads zero, the switch is working. If not, the switch is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 4: If necessary, replace the lid switch with a new one of the same type. Connect the new switch in exactly the same way the old one was connected.
Step 5: If the switch still doesn't work, it is probably misaligned. Realign the switch by repositioning the screws holding it in place, testing the switch as you go until it works properly.

F5 code on Asko 7305, can humidity sensor be bypassed?

I've had luck vacuuming the lint and dust out of the humidity sensor on my Asko. Suggest trying that first. While you're in there you might also exercise the connectors at the circuit board end of the sensor's cable(s). If they're corroded, some simple unplugging and replugging a few times might burnish the connectors. I've observed that our dryer will sometimes run longer than necessary on days when the relative humidity is high. Not very often but enough to suspect a trend. If your environmental air is humid, I would wonder if you're experiencing a similar condition. Every couple of years I take the dryer outside and blow it out with the air compressor: air chamber including heater coils as well as all the innards. This also gives me a chance to keep an eye on the belt!

On the front panel there is a wire unplugged, there is a spot for it, just wondering if that could be why it blows the circuit breaker when in heat cycle. Asko 1605 dishwasher

HI,
No is the answer to your question. The heater circuit does not run through the door panel, thats only a safety ground so you don't get shocked if something goes wrong. I would look into the heater circuit to solve this problem. Asko directly can help you and possible walk you through this problem. Some of the problems were know to be in the control board, others were in the heater itself. 1-800-966-2756 is Asko's direct number. I am a servicer and this is the number I use. I would like to direct you in the correct direction but there are a couple of things that would be needed to fix this problem and without seeing the unit it becomes a cat and mouse game.
Can them for the correct answers, If you have problems there, I would be glad to help the best I can with manuals or parts needed.
Good Luck

The power switch does not connect immediately. I have to keep pushing it 5 or 6 time before it connects

Hello
I consider our complaint is against the front panel power switch of your Sony TV, and posts this solution. Sony telivision power switches are of two pole single throw types and soldered direltly to the main printed circuit board. Your complaint is related with its poles contact inside. They can be defective, and is not repairable. Replacing ti is the only solution. To do this, disconnect the TV from AC mains first, and open it. Draw out the main printed circuit board, and will come with the switch. Desolder the switch out from the board, and go for a new one. It can be purchased from most of the electronic spare part shops. Keep the sample with you. Note its legs position and its pitch. Replacing it will solve your problem. Ok.

Asko 1805 DW Circulation pump NF. What is the most common cause / fix. Is it the motor, impeller, capassitor or control board?

The pump motor can easly be tested by 1) Physically looking at the pump motor in the pump out mode. The motor must spin freely. The motor has 2 push on electrical connections that must have AC voltage across them in pump out mode. If voltage is present and motor not spinning indicates the motor windings are open circuit. No voltage at the 2 terminals indicate that the electrical / electronic switch circuit is faulty. The impeller could be jammed from debris or pipe blocked.

W640T2 (CIRCIUT BOARD)

I am a technician for Asko in Australia. The blackness on the motor control unit(circuit board) is probably carbon dust from the carbon brushes in electric motor.Likely problem is motor brushes have totally worn the armiture in motor or the MCU needs replacing due to earth leakage or short.Purchasing the parts from Asko should be no problem, but if you purchase and install electrical componenents only to find problem unresolved, you can't return installed parts for a refund. Also the breather hose from the detergent dispensor to outer tank can leak from tank connection when spinning load , and result in water running down outer tank and onto the electric motor causing circuit breaker to trip.....possibly damaging motor too. Goodluck!!
