Whrirlpool Front Loader Washing Machine AWO3561 - F11 Fault

I believe we have just had our Control Unit replaced on this machine. During our 1st load since this was replaced we experienced problems and by the thrid the F11 Fault including Flashing Start/Pause and some of the Spin Speed Buttons were flashing.
What are possible causes for the Control Unit to need to be replaced again after only 3 washes.

Thanks. I had already done all of the above including contacting the Repair Man (who is going to order a new Control Unit on Monday. Maybe it is just a bad lot of CCU Boards. I originally posted this message because I was hoping there is something else wrong with the washing machine that is making the CCU board fail that also needs to be fixed.

Thanks for you help. I have now looked at your "Tips and Tricks" about the F11 error. I guess our repairer will carry out those checks as you have suggested. Sorry about not giving you feedback prior to rating. This rating was given purely because you didn't offer anymore answers than I had already done, in hindsight I did not provide you with all the information to allow you to make a more informed decision.

Try unplugging the washer for at least 30 minutes before assuming you have a failed component. Sometimes you may experience a momentary glitch in the CCU. Unplugging the washer for this duration will often reset the error and return to normal operation. If the error code reappears, and it was just recently replaced, I strongly recommend getting in touch with the repair service you used. Most reputable companies guarantee their parts and labor against defects (some companies as much as 90 days). If this is a repeat failure, it may just be a bad lot of CCU boards and the company should replace it free of charge. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

Thanks for Trying? I was hoping you provide me some feedback with these preliminary questions, first, so I could take the next step before you rated this. I had a link posted under the "Tips and Tricks" section of my proflie that explains the "F11" error in greater detail. Sorry that I could not help you any further,

How do you fix a fault F06 on a Whirlpool front loader washing machine

The "F06" fault code indicates a drive motor tachometer error. This means the control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If the failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will unlock after 3 minutes. Possible Causes/Procedure: Unplug washer or disconnect the power supply. Check the wire harness connections between the motor and motor control unit and the harness connections between the motor control unit (MCU) and the Central Control Unit (CCU). Based on your symptom and details, the intermittent (F06) error code is likely a loose connection in the harness between the motor and the (MCU) or between the (MCU) and the (CCU). It could also be the tachometer circuit in the motor or an intermittent internal component connection within the (MCU). Since the (CCU) has already been replaced, the failure is likely a loose harness connection or the (MCU). I recommend calling the repair person back out to re-diagnose the failure. by Joey S MARCH 1ST, 2010 ' Be the first to comment

The "F11" fault code will display if the Motor Control Unit (MCU) has an internal failure; repeating under or over voltage, or over current conditions. If failure occurs during high speed spin the door unlocks after 3 minutes. The MCU (Motor Control Unit) is located beside the motor. Here is the part to order.

Fault code F11 on whirlpool AWM8143 6th sense mwashing machine

got this from another site....

Starting to see these fault codes pop up in these otherwise fine machines. The F/11 code is just a generic code generated when there’s a communications error between the two main control boards in the washer. These two boards are the motor control unit(MCU) and the central control unit(CCU).
A common problem is the wiring harness jiggling loose; remove and reseat it and that usually fixes it. If not, then you’re looking at spending some money on control boards. Yes, I said boards, plural. The really sucky part is that there’s no way to definitively and conclusively prove which board, the MCU or the CCU, is at fault so, unfortunately, that only leaves the parts changing monkey method: replace both boards,

But, on a brighter note, the electronics are covered under warranty for 24 months. If your machine is older that this, then you’ll need to shell out some shekels
