I set the router from wap security to wep and i cant connect to it now.

The WEP encryption key is in the router's wireless settings and changing this encryption will affect your wireless connection.
You must also configure the computer's wireless card settings with this WEP encryption otherwise the wireless router will not allow the computer to connect to the wireless router.
I suggest you use WPA or WPA2 encryption, this is a later and stronger encryption method than WEP encryption.

Now, avoid Port Triggering if at all possible. Before you follow any of these instructions, read what Port Forwarding is, and what Port Triggering is, and what it does.

Your router may have some built in forwarding, so check it out and see if you can locate your manual on those pages. This website has many manuals for such configurations, but it is best to do what you can in your router on your own.

What you need to look for on your router configuration pages is the Virtual settings. The page will have a drop down list with several dozen options to choose from. You will need to know what type of service or program allows the Xbox Live parties, and then look for it in the list. If it is in the list, click on it, and it will automatically be added to the list.

Another option you need to consider is enabling UpnP, in your router, which enabled your programs to talk to the router and make configurations automatically within the router automatically without any input from you. Locate that setting in your config pages and enabled it as it usually ships disabled on routers. After you enable this option, see if you can properly connect to the party before setting any ports manually or in the routers virtual config page.

If it doesn't work, leave it enabled, but locate your program in the list. If it is not there, then use the link I gave you to locate your router, and the program you need to use.

The worst scenario is that you will need to contact Microsoft with questions on how to setup Xbox Live as you need it in your router, or your computer manufacturer. You may even want to consider contacting the manufacturer of your router and see if the tech department can help you configure this properly.

Sorry bro, I had the same issue with mine. I called tech support to no avail. After a couple of days trying to even get back into the router with no luck I gave up and got a different router. Seemed when i upgraded the firmware the file was either corrupt or something went wrong during the upgrade and it basically "bricked". I wish I could be of more help

You should call Linksys tech support now. The router needs to be configured manually. The tech that you hired maybe not familiar on how to configure the Linksys router.

Are you going to connect your PS3 wired to your router or wireless?
1. check first if ps3 is working behind rca modem.
2. then connect a pc directly to your linksys router
3. open configuration page of linksys by typing your gateway on your browser. (usually it is by default
4. go to applications and gaming tab
5. you'll find there port forwarding..key in your number there
> i guess your numbers are like 88 and 3764 (something like that)
6. if your trying to connect your playstation wirelessly, you need to know your wireless security (if your router is secured).
> go to wireless tab and look for wireless security
> get your key
7. go back to playstation and try to view your wireless network
> connect and type in your key
