Question about RCA F36673ET 36" TV

1 Answer

Possible power supply problem?

RCA F36673ET 36" TV The picture and sound cut off while watching it and there was a very high pitched whining sound coming from the back where the power cord goes in, when I unplugged it, the sound 'faded', the only other way i know to describe the sound is that of a jet engine slowing down to a stop, if that makes sense. If I plug it back in, the sound starts again and fades when I unplug it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Possible power supply problem?

Yep i can tell you what it is. The High pitched sound is the power supply soound when its overloaded and thats because the Horizontal output transistors shorted and this happened because of the flyback transformer went bad and /or the horizontal driver coil right off the secondary of the horizontal driver transformer and then the other side of this coil connects to the base of the horizontal output transistor. The part transformer cost about 35 to 45 bucks to the dealer and the transistor cost about 15 bucks. the total repair job cost about 175 to 225.00 after all said and done and some shops even may charge more ad there labopr rates may be higher. Good Luck

When my rca 36F530 tv is plugged in it makes a high pitched buzzing noise picture does not come on

There is a short circuit in the high voltage circuit. the transformer who helps to create the high voltage or his power transistor is damage. replacement needed. the repair is not expensive, because the parts are average repair. Ask for an estimate.

My TV shut off and will not come on

This is an issue with one of your power supplys wether it be high voltage horizontal power supply or the reg power supply. The beeping noise is letting you know that it has some power but not enough to start the high voltage needed to create the picture on your tube. I would seek professional help for this issue.
