Question about Stanley Proto Electronics - Others

2 Answers

I just bought a Stanley 500 watt power converter, and it only works intermittently. The green light starts blinking and power is lost to the device I have plugged in. I have to turn it off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on to get any power through it. The longest it goes without shutting off is about half an hour.

Since it's a 500 watt converter, it can probably only put out 500 watts intermittently. As stated above, make sure the load you have is less than the continuous output of the converter, or it'll over heat. Also, make sure the input power supply is capable of supplying enough current and voltage to handle the load of the converter.

How much is your device drawing ? Does it get hot ? Sounds like a Thermal Shutdown. Does it run nicely when nothing is plugged in ? Be careful with inductive loads, these babies hate them (motors and such)...

SOURCE: Flashing green light

sounds like the bulb is blown. Its the main lamp in the side of the set. you will see a small door there once you take it off there is 2 screws to remove and bulb in its casing will slip out. by looking at the buld you should be able to see if its blown. You should get approx 3000 to 4000 hours from a bulb but if you are a heavy user of this tv with higher contrast the bulbs dont last. i have this model tv myself and ive been told that they are not designed to be run for long periods of time and dont use gaming machines on them. Shame they dont tell us this when we are buying them.. hope this helps you Craig (crazy@woosh.co.nz) let me know how you get on

How many times does the POWER led blink per sec? (dont worry about the OPC)

2x = power supply (not as expensive to fix)
3x = Main board (expensive to fix)

SOURCE: TV Picture Goes Black

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
Thanks to those who posted the solutions

if your TV blinks 10 times. Possible solution should be to check and replace on the G1 board Q1600 and Q1601 if shorted and R1614 and diode D1605 open.

What can i run with a 500 watt stanley converter

Assuming the output is 120VAC, you can only run items pulling about 4 amps. If the voltage output is 220 VAC, you can only run items pulling about 2.25 amps. Read the labels on the devices you want to use, they should list either watts or amps used.

To convert amps to watts: Current times voltage
To convert watts to amps: Watts divided by voltage

I have a electric dryer Model WED5810SW0 THAT I WAS TOLD I COULD CONVERT TO 120V from 240v is this true and if so how do i do this?

If you consider doing this the first thing is SHUT THE MAIN BREAKER OFF. Use an auxiliary light source to see when working in a dead panel. Always keep in mind an ARC FLASH ACROSS HOT MAINS HAS ENOUGH HEAT TO PEAL THE SKIN OFF OF YOU. Before an explanation of how to do it you should keep in mind that this is for a single receptacle only. If any other receptacles are on the same circuit they will also be changed to 240 volt receptacles and if you plug any 120 volt device into them, the 120 volt device will be destroyed. That said OK, any 120 volt outlet can be changed to 240 volt by removing the 120 volt circuits neutral, re identifying the white wire with red or black phase tape and connecting it to a new 2 pole 15 amp breaker. The maximum that this circuit will now load up to is, on #14 wire at 80% = 12 amps at 240 volts. The 120V receptacle must be changed to a 15A - 240V receptacle so that 120 volt devices can not be plugged into it. Never use 2 single pole breakers together because code requires that on a fault trip both legs of the 240V circuit must be disconnected simultaneously. it depends on what type of batteries you are talking about. If they are batteries that are charged in a AA type that uses 120 volts then it will work.

I just bought a 800 watt converter, installed the battery connection wires and connected it to a marine deep cycle battery and the LCD window displays 0 W which in the guide indicates an overload or short...

It says 0 watts because there is no load on the inverter! Plug something in, like a 100W light, and you will see the display go to something near 100W. I don't think you have a problem, other, like most of us, we don't completely understand Chinglish. Good luck.

A: All of the Baccus Global jump starters have a battery status indicator, units can have 2 - 4 LED indicators when all of them illuminate and the green one flashes the unit is fully charged.

I just bought a RoadPro 2500 and i want to buy like a dorm fridge how many watts or volts size would work??

If you are referring to the RoadPro RPPI-250
  • 2000 Watts Continuous Power
  • 2500 Watts Power Output @ 10 Minutes
  • 5000 Watts Peak Power Output.
  • A small fridge will use about 500 -700 watts, with startup wattage at around 2000watts.
  • So, a dorm fridge will work fine.
  • the RoadPro converts DC to AC voltage, so a regular 120 volt dorm fridge will work.

    Drive stopped working

I had the same problem - green light on power cord but when plugged in the green light would go off and the hard drive would do nothing. I took it into Geek Squad finally and it turned out that the problem was hard drive casing, which I had to have replaced.
