From front with belt around drum ..gather slack and push under idler and around motor pulley right to left...recommend doing it before reinstalling front place rollers on front panel under front lip of drum and lift ..easier than trying to reach under front panel and will a little more slck in belt

you have to open back panel of dryer as well as the top. there will be a spring connected to the motor assembly. unlatch it, check your belt to see if it needs to be replaced. if cracked, replace. latch spring and belt should have tension.

I have the model AWZ 7813 and the belt broke. I took the unit apart but need a new belt and the manual to show me how the belt goes on.

If you have seen belts in cars, there is something to remove the slack (spring loaded). Its similar to dryers,, the dryer belt goes around the drum and the motor (obviously). from there, there is a wheel that connects to the base. It is spring loaded and takes the slack off the belt. If YOU took it apart (recently), hold the wheel/spring assembly in your hands as it would be positioned if it were screwed into the chassis. Move the wheel to get an idea what direction the spring pulls.

I hope this helped a little.

How do I replace a dryer belt on Kenmore dryer

You have to practically completely disassemble the dryer and remove the drum. If you can't figure it out, you should call an expert. Sometimes getting it apart isn't bad, it's putting it all back together that gets you. ;-)

Horrible noise and burning smell when dryer is on

Same thing happened to us, the noise is one of your wheel bearings are going bad, (they are just a small piece of plastic rollers) and the smell is your belt. The dryer is dismantled from the front. I figured out how to take my dryer apart from google. Also, you may need some help to pull out the drum wheel and pay attention to how it came out. I ordered parts from repairclinic.com and it was very inexpensive and the parts took 3 days to come to me ( I wouldn't pay for faster shipping).
Good luck, you won't believe how uncomplex your dryer really is.

Dryer takes three cycles to dry took apart need help put back together

Model #?
If this is a standard dryer with the idler pulley, place the pulley into the slots to the left of the motor pulley. Bring the belt through the idler so it is running on the flat side of the belt and place the belt around the motor. The idler should be placing down pressure on the belt keeping it tight. make sure there are no twists all the way around the drum or it will pop off.
