Hello.

Please apply the solution this way!

To close an oven door when it's in the locked position and the door is open, press and hold the oven door light switch while following these simple steps:

  • Program the oven to self-clean.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Cancel self-clean.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
To self-clean your wall oven, follow these simple steps:
  • Remove the oven racks.
  • Set your oven control to "Clean."
  • Select a cleaning time or choose a cleaning level: light, medium or heavy. For typical cleaning needs, we recommend that you select a cleaning time of three hours or choose the medium setting.
  • Select "Start." (To set a delayed start, see your Use & Care Guide.)

Note: For safety reasons, the oven door will remain locked until the oven cools down. When it is sufficiently cool, the door will automatically unlock.

Thanks for using fixya.

Hello, have you ever used the cleaning cycle on this electric range? If not, then look under the burners cover (top of the stove) on the top and above the oven door. In the middle there will be a black hook, might be kinda hidden. Pull the hook 140 degrees in the opposite direction. This will unlock your oven door.

While clean the door, but I won't mention here, invertenially lock the door and the over started it cleaning cycle. While oven is in it cleaning cycle for 2 or 3 hours, you can't open the oven door. It has a timed door lock once in the clean cycle. Also, it won't let you open the oven after cleaning cycle, until the oven cools down for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. (cleaning cycle temperature in the over will be approx. 1500 to 1800 degrees) This is why the oven is cleaned, it burns off the brown/black grim. Also, there are cleaners to get the brown strikes off across the glass in the door. The glass is high temperature and anti shatter, and it very expensive. All oven door will have a manual lock on the doors....This a safety factor for kid the like to get in the ovens it also the same with freezers and refrigerators. I hope this help you. GB you...stewbison

I have a Bosch white single wall oven HBL54AUC. It is very loud and I don't know why. It works...just too loud. Any suggestions? Linda :

Good morning Linda, the noise you're hearing is probably the cooling fan with a bad bearing. That would be the only moving part that would make noise. It's a pain in the neck to get to but fairly easy to swap out. Definitely easier with two people. Or it could be a bad bearing on the convection fan motor. Set it to temp and then open the door once it starts to heat, That will cut power to convection fan and noise will stop.Hope that helps.

Good morning, the fan noise is probably the cooling fan in the control compartment. With an electric oven, it could be a resettable thermostat that tripped and needs to be reset. Or it could be a bad heating element. Display will display lot if it can't bring the oven temp up. Hope that helps.

My oven makes a noise before it lights. A "whoosh"

That is common with gas since the gas fills the entire element before there is enough gas for the pilot to ignite. You have the same thing with outdoor gas grills.

Try spraying cooking oil (such as PAM) on all the moving parts of the door -- the noise is probably coming from the hinges and/or spring.

F8 means a fault on the door locking switch.

Something may be preventing the door lock from operating properly.

The solution is to have the door lock switch and wiring checked over.
