I have an Olevia screen that sometimes does this. The solution is highly technical. Try unplugging the unit, wait a couple of seconds, and then plug it in again. I don't know what's going on, but this always works for me.

My Volume and Channel button won't work and so I have bout 2 remotes, neither of them have worked, one is the RCR311BR remote which has been noted to work for this tv. What else can I do

I have a 2000 model RCA P52923 and I had the same problem occur a couple of days ago. The sound hasn't worked for a couple of years, but the TV is connected to an RCA surround sound to resolve that issue. Most recently, while watching TV, it began to start scanning channels by itself. I shut it off and unplugged it for a couple of days, but each time that I turn it on, it begins to immediately start scanning each channel. Neither the remote, nor the channel buttons on the set are able to stop the scanning, and neither of them will perform any functions, including turning the set on and off.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TV CLICK WHEN TURN ON

I had the same problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK7zFBBU6p4&feature=related The click click sound was my clue - its a common problem with Samsung. I watched a few of these and was able to see the 4 bad capacitors on my tv, de-soldered and replaced them for under $5.00. Hope this helps. I have never soldered other than a couple of wires on a speaker; so this required some practice. Disconnect the TV for a couple of days to make sure the power down the unit before you touch the inside of the set.

It sounds like your main projection lamp is burned out. They are fairly easy to replace yourself if you can find the lamp at a local repair shop or online. www.projectorlampcenter.com is one, also Fry's Electronics and Best Buy carry a few.

No image but good quality speaker.

Sony has had a problem in older sets with-believe it or not- lack of humidity. I had one with the same problem. If it is under warentee take it back, if not-I know it sounds insane- put a large plastic garbage bag over the turned off set. Leave it that way for a couple of days. do not turn it on during this time. After a couple of days remove the bag and turn it on. If it works-that's the problem, if it doesn't- it's dying, and to expensive to fix. Surprised the heck outta' me when I tried it on my old Sony 19" set- it worked.

Tv starts to come on, shuts off and then power LED just blinks

I would check for loose intermitant conections,by now your set might have a few,if you are familiar with tv service you can remove the back cover and with a wooden or rubber handle tap in different areas of the chassis then plug it back in try to turn it on if the set comes on and stays on you should try tapping on the chassis to see if the set goes off,We need to find where the loose conection is to correct it for good. The set should have a few overheated areas witch will need to be resoldered.(like the convergence IC's),If you are not too familiar with servicing you should call for assistance from a servicer.Let Us know if you need more information.
