How do you change the oil on a MTD 25 ton log splitter...6hp..briggs and stratton.

The oil plug on the Briggs & Stratton 5.5 HP quantum engine is usually located at the bottom of the engine near the crankcase. It should be a round metal plug with a hexagonal head and a rubber or metal gasket. You may need to use a box or adjustable wrench to remove the plug. Once the plug is removed, you can add the necessary amount of oil to the engine.

BRIGGS & STRATTON ENGINES:
For temperatures above 40? F use an SAE30W oil. Using multigrade oil may increase oil consumption. Using SAE 30W oil below 40? F will result in hard starting and possible engine
bore damage. For temperatures below 40 ? F use
an SAE10W-30 or SAE5W-30 oil. Oil capacity for the 6 H.P. engine is approximately 5/8 quart (20 ounces; 0.6 liter).

information.

2 stroke oil is better than no oil, but I'd advise you to get some 4 stroke oil as soon as you can,,, the viscosity of 2 stroke oil is very different and it contains other minerals.

Kd460, here are some crossover part#s for a replacement filter for your Speeco splitter. To answer your other question, yes hydraulic fluid will pour out when you unscrew the filter. You can drain the entire tank first in to a clean container and then re-use the oil or you can put a container under the filter and then change the filter quickly. The fluid caught by the container can then be poured back in to the unit.

Not much of a manual. If you need engine information, look for the Honda model and serial number and get a honda manual for engine.

30 weight, should hold about 2 qts. Use a synthetic oil, will flow a little better when cold than conventional.

Check engine oil.

Remove wire from low oil sensor and the start.

Replace low oil sensor.
