I would recomment reseting the pda first to see if that helps. the digitizer may be faulty but reset the device first, what brand and model is it?

After a soft reset, my Palm TX becomes stuck on the "Palm Powered" screen. I have tried all of the resets, including the hard reset. The PDA does not respond to any of the resets. I can not turn the PDA...

You need to perform full reset which will erase all personal data and set everything to factory default. You need to press reset and power button to perform full reset. It will give you confirmation once you choose yes it will perform hard reset If issue persist you may disconnect and reconnect to internal battery

Slow respond

The best solution to these problems is hard resetting your device. A hard reset will bring your PDA to it's factory default state, so your PDA will be as fast as it was when it was brand new. But this process will erase all your stored data (Such as adress book, messaged, appointments, tasks, pictures, ...) so you should consider having a backup of your PDA to your PC with a backup software before you hard reset your device. So later when you hard reset, you can recover the personal data with this backup file and continue using your PDA faster.
To hard reset your PDA, you must press the on/off button and reset button at the same time (reset button is a small button that needs to be pressed with your pen, and usually it is located in the bottom of the PDA). And later, wait a couple of minutes and the windows will be reinstalled and load up with the starting page of the screen alignment. After you completed all the settings, you can recover your data from your backup file (from PC).

Will not shut off

I recalled a problem a few years ago with my PDA and the solution (from Palm while still under warranty) was to do a HARD RESET of the unit.

Please note that a hard reset will wipe clean all memos and other information stored in your PDA. Make sure you HOTSYC your PDA before doing a hard reset. It will reset the unit back to its original factory setting. The way to accomplish this is by holding down the on/off switch while pressing the reset button on the back of your PDA. It will respond back by asking if you really want to reset (yes or no).

I did this and now I can turn off my PDA without worrying about it coming back on. Now all I have to do is figure out what in the old config (that's now backed up on the desktop backup) is freaking out the PDA and causing it to not turn off. Chances are it's a software that was recently added.

Hope this helps!

Good Luck and Happy New Year!

ASUS MyPal A632 will not boot up.

Happened the same for me.
After lots of digging & googling I found the simple solution:

At the back of the PDA there is a "Hold" button. Change the position back and it starts to respond as usual before.

Sudden death of Dell Axim X30

Hello edil, This sounds like a corrupted ROM file. The ROM stores all your operating system and pda's firmware alltogheter. If it becomes severely corrupt the pda doesn't boot properly or doesn't work at all. This appears like a fixable problem however you will need to have it fixed in a service center, because they need to acces your device's bootloader or rewrite it using some special hardware, then they will rewrite the memory with a fresh rom file. This will have you device up and working. However please avoid to send it to dell as this will get expensive. Most pda services are able to do this and the generic ones will do it cheaper. Try to look for a cheaper, generic "pda service" center. Hope it helps.

Can't get dynamic ip address

What about your desktop pc? Have you checked the services on it to make sure it is not broadcasting DHCP? Also, think about switching over to Stealth Mode (Non-broadcast SSID) instead of MAC filtering. MAC filtering can be cummbersome and if it is just you, then do away with it.

Connection problem

Have you considered software running in the background on your computer? Usually firewall/anti-virus software can block the connection. If you are running any Norton or McAfee products, it is likely the cause. Try disabling them, or boot into safe mode with networking support and see if the PDA responds from here. Safe mode loads a minimal set of drivers and no startup programs. Goodluck!
