Question about Maytag MMV5165 Microwave Oven
Just looking for a little advice. I have a Maytag Microwave MMV5207AAQ and the control panel doesn't function properly. I know the 2, 3 and STOP/CLEAR buttons don't work when depressed. When first plugged in the microwave asks for the time of day to be set. When the time of day is put in and enter pushed, the microwave starts cooking. The Sears parts page list the front control board for $51.99 while the other two circuit boards are $189.49 each. I'd like to fix the problem on the first try, hopefully the $51.99 control panel will do the trick. I would appreciate any ideas as to what is causing the problem. Hopefully someone has seen this problem already. The microwave is about 1 1/2 years old. Nuke.
Nuke, Sounds like your touch pad is going south. Why dont you kill the power, drop the control assy. and unplug the ribbon of the control panel to the board. Take an eraser and clean the ends of the ribbon where it connects to the board. Put it back in and see if that made a difference. If not I would suspect it's the touch panel. The part number I have for this is 53001508. Good luck.
