Receiver alignment is beyond what you can do unless you have a good signal generator and scope and the knowledge needed to understand the circuitry and the test equipment, you will need a tech to do this job.

It could be a number of problems but most likely your RF power amplifier has blown. Also, try and check your antenna SWR. if it is very high, then your antenna needs retuning. A poorly tuned antenna can cause the RF amplifier to fail.

Pro 95 scanner squelch does not silence receiver regardless of knob position, subsequently receiver will not scan.

Your squelch control may be back or your control needs to be aligned properly on the circuit board. Ship it in for repair if you wish. dodgem250.com

Your scanner has somehow gotten out of alignment, and there's no way to fix it with just a screwdriver. Your best bet for repair is your local Radio Shack. If they can't do the repair they should be able to refer you to a local, or they can ship it off for alignment.

CAN MY RADIO SHACK PRO 97 HAND HELD SCANNER BE MADE TO RECEIVE DIGITAL SIGNALS?

The pro 97 is designed to receive analog signals. You will need to spring for a digital receiver if you want to go digital.

It sound like a bad reostat in the volume control. if its under warranty send unit back to kenwood and have them replace the volume control, and possible speaker involvement.

Poor receiver sensivity(25uv) This unit is out of warranty.

how do you know its sensitivity is 25 microvolts? have you checked the antenna connections to make sure they are clean and tight? If there is no problem with the antenna/lead in section,i would check the power supply voltage to see if its right and then the first rf amp, which is probably an field effect transistor near the antenna, they are often damaged by static charges.
