Question about Airnet AER114 Router
Laptop computer has high download speeds plugged directly into router but when using wirelessly, it is extremely slow. Slower than dial up. Other laptop in house has good speed using wireless or plugged directly in. What might be the problem
Initially make a note of the router settings you have configured.
Try restoring the router to factory defaults.
A firmware update may also be worth performing but suspect not unless your ISP has changed the service.
If you update firmware make sure you use the correct version for the hardware you have. The hardware version can be found on serial no. label.

1-Is it a cable modem? The new ones Cox has out are DOCSIS-3 and if your router is several years old you may want to replace it with a router that is designed for DOCSIS-3. I kept my DICSIS-2 router (3 yrs old).
2-You should do a few speed tests to confirm performance then talk to your internet provider about your connection. I had to have Cox come out to check things and they replaced a component on their side.
3-Do have a friend or a neighbor going through the same thing? I did, we compared notes and got to the bottom of it.
