Possibly, it doesnt seem likely as its actually been chipped not scratched, but try using a disc cleaning agent and try again.

The console won't read the disc. What do i do?

If your console wont read your disc then there is an issue with the disc drive in your xbox 360. The most common failure responsible for this issue is the laser going bad. If your xbox 360 is still under warranty than you can contact Microsoft directly regarding the issue. If not you can replace the laser manually. Below is a link to a Youtube walk through on how to do this.

I hope the info listed above has helped in some way.

How To Fix Xbox 360 Games Not Reading! You Don't Need A New Drive!

If you have the disc reading error with your console then don't despair this is not your DVD drive that is faulty.

You do not need to replace it!

What normally happens with this error is the sensors on the back of the drive overheat and you are left with an Xbox 360 that every time you put a disc in it does nothing!

Well if you stop the heat build up getting to the chips you will be able to play again with no problems.

To do this you can use a good video repair guide or of course you can send it in and they will fix it for you.

Check out the full guide through the link below and see how to get back up and running with ease:

Xbox wont read disk

Hello, This problem ( I know from personal experience), is a disc drive error... this is definately a fix-it yourself project! First of all, you must open your xbox 360... The video i learned this from was at youtube , this is the video :
Okay... once you are inside... (on the video he will point out the disc drive)... write down the model # of the Disc drive.... this is very important. for this drive will be the only drive that will work if you do it yourself. They usually sell for about 50 bucks on ebay,,, maybe even less , and that includes shipping and handling. When you get your disc drive... you will need to open the old disc drive up, and take out the memory chip,,, (each xbox 360 has their own unique memory, that is why you NEED this chip).... You then open up the new disc drive and take the memory chip out of there, then insert the memory chip from your old disc drive. You then put everything back together, and i guarantee this will work... The video to learn where your disc drive is, and how to do the disc drive fix, is also on youtube at this video: ........ Electronics are not cheap at all! especially game systems... you pay for the system... you want what you pay for... This fix will void your warranty... but if you have a warranty, then you probably would just send it back to microsoft. If you have anymore questions, do not hesitate to ask... I'm always glad to help :D Please rate this answer.... Good luck! and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!! :D
