FRigidaire Affinity ATF6000ES1 shows "dr" message and will not start. At first the message came on at final spin, Now it comes on as soon as I press cycle start. If it is a faulty door lock and switch assembly, please tell me how to access it. Thank you.

Hi i think it is lid switch problem
The lid switch on a washer often serves as a safety switch. If the switch is not working, or if the switch opening in the lid is clogged with detergent, the machine will not run. To check and repair the lid switch:

Step 1: Unplug the machine. Clean out the lid switch port with a wood manicure stick or chopstick. Clean off any detergent buildup around the rim of the lid. Sometimes there's enough detergent encrusted on the metal to prevent the lid from closing tightly and keep the washer from operating.

Step 2: If cleaning doesn't help, remove the top of the cabinet to get at the switch. With the switch exposed, check the screws for looseness. Loose screws can cause the switch to move when the lid is closed or as the machine goes through its cycles. Check the terminals of the switch to make sure they're tight. Tighten the mounting screws after the switch is in alignment.

Step 3: Test the switch with a VOM set to the RX1 scale; procedures for using the VOM are detailed
here. Disconnect the power leads to the switch terminals and clip one probe of the VOM to each terminal. Close the lid of the washer. If the meter reads zero, the switch is working. If not, the switch is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 4: If necessary, replace the lid switch with a new one of the same type. Connect the new switch in exactly the same way the old one was connected.

Step 5: If the switch still doesn't work, it is probably misaligned. Realign the switch by repositioning the screws holding it in place, testing the switch as you go until it works properly.

Hey,

This is not my main area of expertice, but I have been reading about the problem.

It may be that the pump is blocked.

Heres the tech data sheet for your product the E04 is not listed there but this document may come in handy
ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/ProdInfo_PDF/Webster/134604100ts_wd_efs.pdf

also wiring digram and other intresting documents available for your model on this webpage
http://www.frigidaire.com/products/resultspage.asp?strmodel=ATF6000ES

I would suggest you check your pump.

If its not the pump feel free to request assistance from other experts.

Thanks,
Ekse

Hi,
It may be one of the below listed problems:

  • Cycle selector is not in the correct position.
Advance the Cycle Selector knob until the indicator is a little further into the cycle.
  • Overloading caused motor to overheat.
Allow the motor to cool down for 30 minutes. Reduce the load size. The average washer load will fill the drum 1/3 to 1/2 full. If the problem persists, call for service.
  • Thermal limiter switch activated.
A thermal limiter switch automatically turns off the motor in the unlikely event of an overheated situation (electric dryers only). A service technician must replace the thermal limiter switch after correcting the problem.
Try these measures and then revert back....

Thanks

Affinity 6000 es1 error code ad

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# ATF6000ES1, is displaying an "AD" code. The "AD" means that your appliance was in an automatic mode. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Frigidaire Affinity Front-loading washer wont do anything

Check the wall socket with another electric gadget. Check your washer plug fuse. Finally open up the rear (after taking the washer power cord off the wall of course!) and disconnect and reconnect all wires and connectors one by one. Possible it could just be a loose connection somewhere. Sometimes happens due to vibration.

Click so pl if helped.

Error code DR comes up on my Frigidaire Affinity and won't keep running

It is telling you there is something wrong with the door lock assembly. You will probably have to replace it, but check it first for a broken wire or some other problem that you can fix.
Here is a link to the part if you need it.

Here is a link to a service manual for your machine that will take you through the testing and repair process.

Affinity frigidare front load washer won't start. It beeps with message flashing (DR)

Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.

My washer won't go into the spin cycle. It starts to beep and displays a message that looks like "E20."

This means that the unit isn't draining as fast as anticipated. To access the drain catch you need to pull your washer out. There is an access panel on the back you need to remove. Under the tub on the left (as you look at the washer from the back) there is a drain pump on the floor. Unplug the unit and disconnect the drain hose between the pump and the tub. There is a plastic lint catch in the middle of the hose between the tub and the pump. Remove this part and clear the catch. You should be good to go again after doing this.

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines hope it may for you..............And please rate me if helped
